can anyone post their tweaks in firefox? here is what i do to make it faster:

1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

yeah, for all you firefox fans, try what i did and see if you notice an imporvement.

as for me, i just tried opera, and it's extremely fast also. however, one thing that i cannot stand is the ads. is there an adblocker add-on to opera like how there's one for firefox?

The bad thing about FF is the having a lot of addons slows it down significantly...And IMO w/out them it's the worst popular browser.
I use it, functionality is great, but I'm really dissatisfied with it's speed and no tweaking helps.

IE7 most of the times.
Sometimes Chrome cause it doesnt become slow after hours like IE, and Firefox rarely.

Try IE8 beta 2. It's noticeably faster than IE7, and has some very useful features.

I use Firefox and Google Chrome, lately I've been using Chrome since its much faster and easier to navigate, only thing is it lacks advance features.

i just recently switched to Opera 9.6 due to terrible instability of FF3 and random crashes i've been experiencing on several machines

opera is actually a really good browser
i'm already used to it and in fact prefer it to FF3

there are some drawbacks
like auto complete doesnt seem to exist
imageshack doesnt havea toolbar for it

its not too bad though

Well, I am mostly a firefox guy. The only thing is that I have so many plugins, that sometimes it gets easier to use a simple un-patched browser. Then it comes down to which browser is right for the job.

• I voted for mozilla in addition to firefox simply because I use the seamonkey fork as my main clean browser.
  
• Once in a while, I find a site that gets lots of “timeout” errors and then I switch to chrome.
  
• Even more rare is a site that seems to be so poorly made that only IE will render it. Then I have to go to IE6.

I switched from avant to firefox.

I still prefer avant - but with dual monitors i need to be able to have more than one instance open at a time - which avant for some reason doesnt support.
