I am currently using Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1 inside a Thinstall Virtual container with flash and java also virtualized within. I made it using VMWare Thinstall/ThinApp. This makes my browsing experience more secure by eliminating or significantly reducing the chance of a browser vulnerability from affecting my physical drive. All changes remain in the virtual container and unless the malicious code was specifically written to check for virtual environments created by Thinstall/Thinapp, the harmful code will only gain control over the virtual environment and not the entire physical system.

I occasionally delete the "Thinstall/Mozilla Firefox" folder which resets everything back to the default I made whenever I created it. It also deletes anything malicious that may have been left behind in the virtual environment. I highly recommend running your browser like this for obvious reasons.

In addition to the extra security, I can simply copy my Firefox executable over to my flash drive and have a secure portable Firefox. I've got a copy (default is Firefox 3.0.1, but is update'able' if a new version comes out) hosted on my site if anyone would like to try it out, just give me a PM.

I hate IE, but I haven't used IE8. I like Firefox and all, but I like Opera on the desktop, and Opera Mini on my Palm Centro. It's nice having nearly the same browsing experience on both my desktop at home, and my smartphone.

I've yet to try Safari or Chrome, but I'll definitely give them a try soon.

    Hmm, I just downloaded IE8 Beta 2 and I think it's awesome.

It's noticeably faster than FireFox 3.0.5, and some of the new functions are certainly handy.

There are a few bugs ofcourse, but not as much as you'd think for a beta.

All in all I'm impressed by IE8, and MSoft seems to be on the right path.

Looking forward to the final release!
