As I said, too impractical for home use. Sure, it'd look nice, but just how in the hell are you going to connect your peripherals (game consoles, home theater, even just normal cable). Wireless ftl?

It's a step in the right direction. It has to be more durable since it's flexible.

Exactly, nn. There isn't really much demand for more durable screens. You shouldn't be bumping and hitting your TV AFAIK.

Last time there was a major earthquake and it fell over and broke. haha
I'm sure another will break during the next big quake unless I bolt it to the wall or the floor. Ah Wallpaper TV would be nice.

Oh and the LCDs on phones. I know someone who sat on theirs. That wasn't pretty.

Hmmm, can't wait for the day I can buy a movie on a DVD and just watch the DVD, no player or screen

Of course....a format without a hole in the middle of the screen may be preferred though

That is retarded.... Sony is just advertising how they're really late in game...

I bet that screen just uses OLED technology which has already been used by so many companies.

Not to mention samsung's 40inch OLED TV.
    http://www.engadget.com/2005/05/20/s...-oled-tv-pics/

If you took the screen of this oled tv out of the casing it would bend and be as thin as 2 sheets of plastic too, as are all oled screens.

I have a Cowon A2. I use it everyday and never leave the house without it. Eventually I'm going to up and the screen will surely break.. something like this would be very useful for portable devices.

I think Nintendo Wii was responsible for the influx of broken TV's lately.
