Well if it screws in that tight at least you should be guaranteed no leaks

This is a silly question, are you sure you have the threads matched between the pump and the fittings?

I think you took my post the wrong way, I wasn't trying to offend or suggest you were doing anything wrong. It just seems odd that you would have what appears to be plastic shavings around the pump threads if the fittings matched the pump.

Please share anything you want here, this is how we learn. I meant no harm.

The dB-1 seems to be a great little pump (from the testing that I've done); however, yeah, the tap job on the inlet and outlet is pretty pathetic--I actually ended up re-tapping the pump that I was testing with, just because I found it really annoying

    Hi Shikuva.

I was just woundering why you've got that padding in the tank, is it there to fillter the water?

I've got two pumps and two rads to clean before I build my loops so I might copy the way you do it.

hey Op, same goes with me, dont take my comment offensively as well. I was mearly pointing out a concern, not a flame like aurora.

If the threads come bad like that, and alex had to rethread it. :X

But im glad to see the pump is working for ya.

I have 2 of these in series running my second loop. the sound and vibration of both together are about the same as one ddc Ultra w/ PT...I use the ddc ultra for my main loop. I also had issues with the threads but found that using notable force pushing the barb in straight made the difference...(the pump threads like to make the barbs go in and cross thread)

I like this little pump... and being submersable, it's great for flushing and filling the system too

That's very interesting, can you explain how you have your pumps set up?

I'm not sure I follow your question...

    Loop run is as follows:

Pumps> Radiator> NB> SB> Pumps ( i also have mem sinks pulling off of the second loop)

NM, I figured out how they were run. You've got them in serial, but I thought there were more ins/outs than there are...

yes the pump threads are not fitting install friendly, Have to be sure that they start straight.. VERY easy to cross thread with this pump

    Alex,
do you think it would hurt the performance of this pump if we took out the plastic flow reducer thing down in the inlet? It's likely there to distribute the incoming water but seems like it should flow better without that in there... It reminds me of those things they send in faucets that airate the water and reduce the stream....

DO NOT remove that piece! As I recall, that's the support for the pump's front ceramic bearing (same story with most Iwaki & Eheim pumps... and the 50Z). It goes without saying that the pump will not work properly if that piece is removed.
