What is your problem? If you look first post, you can see all other mods but the vdroop. I have tested all of them and they are working for sure.

Working vdroop mod is posted in earlier page.

I hope this is enough for you, or is there something else that you want to know exactly?

(This thread could be renamed to ASUS P5K-E / Deluxe / Premium Vmods.)
You are as good as your samples are!

    What are you talking about?
I've re-read the thread now twice and can't find a single post complaining non-working mods.

I suggest you measure the PLL VCC voltage from smd caps under socket instead of the fet under dram slots.

The difference between these spots is over 0.3V.

Also when modifying any CPU related voltage, you should keep the wires as short as possible.
Thats because the regulators kick out alot of noise and the cpu is very sensitive to it.
Wires that long will work as antennas and they might do more harm than gain in overclock.

Of course this is the case with all of the mods.

If these mods don´t work, it´s just you

Thanks for the tip. I am on my third P5K and brought the mod all the way to the bottom of the board this time but none of my OC's where even close to what they had been when the mod was up top. That might explain it since I was clueless.

    Hey guys

I've done the Vdroop mod on my P5K Deluxe & it works great

Set in bios at 1.6125V I get 1.608V Idle & 1.60V load which is perfect for me

Been looking around the board & noticed that the R27 coils around the CPU socket burn my fingers straight away! Is there any point in putting heatsinks on them?

Where is the PLL chip on these things?

    Hi there folks
I have strange instability with P5K Deluxe. Please help.

I've performed vdroop pencil mod. The voltages went up and they're almost identical to what is set in the bios. The damper is enabled.

Now overclocking Q6600 to 3.6 with 1.45v give me full stability, but not quite. It can do Small FFT stable for 8 h and then another run next day will fair after few hours. On top of that some games just hangs.
I've observed small fluctuations of cpu vcore during load times.

Perhaps lead layer isn't conducting properly, maybe it's to thin, or depending of the temperature? ( fluctuations of ambient temp. )
Now I've made over theory, but I'm not sure if it's right?

So does this mod deffinetly work for the P5K-E? Just the pencil mod part?

Could I just do the pencil mod part and see any results?

I had to roll back to the 0602 BIOS in order to get rid of Vdroop. The pencil mod helped a little bit for me, but the BIOS put everything where it should be. I havn't tried the latest 0803 bios yet. My board came with 0703.
