A amd 6400 would defo be soldered? The temp difference between cores sometimes 10C difference is probs due to crappy IHS!! would be nice if could remove it as my Thermalright 120EX is bolt thru

My core temp shows as high as a 20c difference between my 2 cores with IHS OFF so i wouldn't bank on your suspicion.. and yes i've remounted and mounted several times

Can I use AC Freezer 64 pro with naked cpu ?
Thanks for the fast replay
Just to be sure the freezer does make good contact with naked cpu
Looks like I will have some fun next morning , too bad I don't know the temp with my X2 4000+ brisbane .
I Removed IHS but the heatsink didn't touch the cpu core any more , so I put the IHS back with a little super-glue to attach the IHS .

Does anyone have any idea if the G2 Brisbane chips are soldered? My G1 isn't and is currently naked, and I am considering either a BE-2400 or a 5000BE as a Christmas present.

i had to scrape a bit off the socket on my s939 system to get the stock heatsink to sit flat after i took the IHS off, do you guys still have that little issue with AM2 chips?
I think that has to do with the OEM manufacturer of the socket, be it foxconn or whoever else. I don't know who manufactures the socket on my board but i don't have any clearance issues with the socket AFAIK
