No mate, the P965 Dark only has solid caps round the CPU socket area wheras the P965-S Dark has solid caps all round.

Anyway The non-S seems to be as good as the S, sans firewire

    P965 non-S

Oddly enough, this board isn't even on the DFI website yet

I guess the name on the boxes as well as the obvious difference in caps is the only way to tell, although I couldn't find any product details or retailers of the non-S on Google. Heck, the P965-S hasn't even been released in the UK yet

I have the -S version and there's a barcode sticker that lists it as the P965-S, but the box graphics have no -S, just INFINITY P965 DARK. There is however, a gold sticker on the front of the box that says "solid cap edition" on the -S.

Great board. I'm thinking of buying one.

Does anyone know what brand those non-solid caps are?

Which is a good thing IMO

But by this, do you mean the non-S in particular or both these boards?

So, the last thing I heard about the Non-S version was that it wasn't supposed to be released at all... Is that some kind of ES, perhaps?

I also thought it wasn't going to be released, I mean it's already a pretty cheap board who's going to bother with the non-s version?

Well the 965P-S costs us about $200-220USD ($247AUD is the cheapest online price) here in Australia, not exactly the price point you have it for

In fact it works out about the same or slightly cheaper to order it from excaliberpc in the USA.
