diablo 3 could very well make a pretty wicked rts. but honestly i think it dumb for blizzard to consider making starcraft an rts. (could be perhaps they wouldn't think it could hold its own nowadays?)

Diablo's gameplay could make it a nice FPS/TPS RPG game, both SP and MMO.
For a SC RPG, SC: Ghost was planned.
But SC is a RTS game, and should not be raped into being a MMO game like WoW

Maybe what they mean is and rts with a lot of online functionality. There were many MMORTS projects in the works, but none of them made it(I think, remember Dune online anyone?).

Also, I you guys can remember the game Starcraft Ghost (FPS, Splinter Cell style), that has yet to be released (initialy it was planned for xbox 1). Maybe they scraped it and made it into something like a World of Starcraft (sounds awful, I know).

I'd like to see how Blizzard could ruin Warcraft any more than making it into a MMO. Warcraft is the game you can just pick up and have fun with, MMO's take a lot of time and really aren't as fun as a good RTS imo.

I never liked Warcraft 3 & never liked WoW but the first 2 games were great frun. Starcraft was a massively better game than Warcraft 3. The only way they could get Starcraft into MMO without carving it up into pieces is a MMOFPS (kinda like Planetside but better & without Sony). To me it doesn't suit the RPG genre & Diablo3 wouldn't suit the RTS genre unless you like infranty rushes & nothing else.

Yeah, I don't see how blizzard could turn Star Craft into an MMO, especially since a ghost could just launch a nuke attack and take out 100 people at once. Would make the game pretty unfun if someone were to get a stock pile of nukes.

Really, I loved Warcraft 3. It was a blast to play with a bunch of other people.

Ghost was action/adventure, not necessarily FPS.

Exactly. If they were to make this an MMO several many of folk would be greatly disappointed. Diablo should be an MMO if anything. Starcraft.. Needs to remain an RTS. Unless they could figure a way to make it a type of MMORTSG and not make it feel like a CHORE to play the game.

I think Diablo 3 should be an MMORPG, I think that's the only logical progression of the series, and it would have a lot of success in that realm.

Star Craft 2 on the other hand should remain a RTS.

I can't even express how bad of an idea this is. If Blizzard ramped up the hype wagon again, just to copout with an MMO, it'd cause a bigger outrage than Ghost ever would have. In fact, I don't even know if they could make it out of Korea after that.

I sure hope they meant a MMO inspired RTS, that would really do the franchise justice and push the bounds for large scale battles a bit further
