    [Testing] Sapphire X2900XT

    hi guys

I decided bought one of this cards

    some pics

    (Phone quality)

Buyng a X2900 we have 3 Valve games Free (Black BOX):

    - Half-Life 2: episode2
    - Portal
    - Team Fortress2

and Day of Defeat till the other games dont came out
    - Day of defeat

    (Black BOX)

    15:44:46, ASIC Temperature via LM64 on DDC3 I2C [0] (C) = 71.125, MCLK(MHz)[0] = 828.00, SCLK(MHz)[0] = 742.50

    ASIC Temperature via LM64 on DDC3 I2C [0]

    Minimum temperature: 54.375 C
    Maximum temperature: 71.750 C
    Average temperature: 58.601 C

    (max temp 71/72c)

A pic of the game DOD just to show that image quality is good

    Just testing the CSS :p

    1680x1050 - MAX Quality - AA 8x - HDR

I also noticed what others reviews already said , that in some games with this drivers when MSAA is ON we lost a lot of FPS , but like i said its just in a few games and we hope that in the next drivers this issue its solved

here is a pic in same spot , same settings only with MSAA OFF , look at the FPS (+ 200 FPS only because MSAA is OFF)

he he thanks Mascaras, i have the card since 3 days now.. and i was not knowing we have DOD for free..lol... ( but you forget to mention we have too a full version of 3D06....

If you have BF2142.. give to it a try.. you will be really surprise by how it look.. the quality is really better with the 2900XT compared to X1K.

( just use it in this tests not to compare , just curiosity , i change in the 1st post )

    drivers used was :

X2900 >> Cat 8.37.4.3 (only driver avaible in AMD/ATI site)

like i said before the 8800GTS SLI and 8800GTX results with CPU @ 3200mhz it was just curiosity not to compare , but this is more fair :

    E6600 @ 3800mhz
    8800GTX ( forceware 97.92)

    E6600 @ 3600mhz
    X2900XT (Cat 3.7)

Next : run 3dmark 2001 and test overclock

do you have oblivion? i'd love to see how it performs at 1680x1050 with a bunch of texture mods turned on and AA.

Edit - BTW great work, my favorite review yet - short, sweet, lots of screens.

BTW guys , new review of HIS with the driver 8.38 (Its not the 8.38 Final Yet )

a lot of improvements in games +5%-30% then 8800GTS with previous driver (8.37) , even beat 8800GTX in Company of heroes

    Review here >> http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/hwdb.php?ti...HIS&rid=790821

To collect higher-order market, Radeon 2900XT HD cheaper prices than expected, Official pricing for $ 399, and competitors for a meeting of the GeForce 8800GTS.

According to this test, Radeon 2900XT HD performance is better than GeForce 8800GTS. About 5~30% the leading edge of the test results exceeded even more similar to the level of 8800GTX.

But AMD also frank and R600 graphics core driver has yet to be continued optimization, So in the future effectiveness still further improve the performance space.

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.
