great job perkam, thanks a lot!
Damn you guys are fast, i posted this thread 10 mins ago and already invited 10 people

btw, the latest version seems to have problems under vista with some systems.
If you use vista and it doesnt work let me know and i can send you an older beta which seemed to work better.

i'm testing joost for some days now and it's kinda interesting. but unfortunately the "video on demand"-stuff isn't exactly what i've expected... :/

would be cool if it would also offer some kind of live streamed media like soccer/nhl/nba matches.

basicly, the content one can watch is mostly pretty worthless :[
but in the near future, when joost will feature a cbs-channel with series like csi, csi miami etc, joost will be just more interesting.

I have also being a beta tester for some time. The only thing that I really do not like on Joost is the lack of movies. Well we can survive without that anyway. if someone wants as well PM me.

Well the resolution is not that good but it just tends to get better.

Yeah the res will def get better.
If you check the splash screen during Joost startup you will see they have their own H.264 decoder licensed, so Joost is def HD ready.
Bandwidthwise Fr3ak is running it on his Macbook with a 1mbit connection and said it works fine.

And yeah, the weak point atm is def the lack of media and actually i would have expected it to be a bit more interactive.
But its def interesting and has potential.

    Thx for helping out Metroid
Yeah, pms are flying in quickly, i already invited around 20 people since i started this thread

As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

I've been running the beta since day one. It's certainly interesting technology but as mentioned, there's not much on yet. It's been a little twitchy on my 3mb cable connection but since it's p2p based it should drastically speed up once there are more users.

If they get live network feeds and whatnot this will majorly upset the applecart for the cable tv providers imho.

Joost was created and is being developed by the 2 guys that created Kaaza and Skype in case anyone didn't already know.
    Currently messing with:
    Intel DP55SB Sharpsberg
    i7-860 (stock) under a Zalman CNPS-8700NT cooler
    4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ 1600
XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition (765, 1125 stock)
Mushkin Chronos DX 240GB and 1.5 TB WD Black
Powered by a Seasonic X-650 and stuffed into a Silverstone GD05 case
