    asus commando+2x 2gb ocz PC2-6400 vista gold = 3gb?!?!

    basically I just got a commando a E6600 and a set of 2x2gb ocz vista gold pc6400.

somehow the POST screen and bios tells me i have 3008mb of memory, windows tells me i have 2.93gb physical memory....wot the hell is going on?

If I take 1 stick out, it says i have 2gb. if i take the other stick out, it says i have 2gb, so it isnt a case of 1 stick being 1gb in size.

do i have some sort of faulty sticks? is the bios misreporting the amount of memory I have? this is a complete mystery to me!

32bit limitation. Open Cpu-Z and it will show you 4096mb.

im running vista 64bit and it is telling me 2.93gb, probbaly because the bios is telling IT that i have 3008mb....

why would the bios be reporting wrongly? bios is unrelated to O/S so surely it should show the the correct amount at all times even if i had a 32bit o/s installed?

cpu-z does show 4096mb but i cant believe the bios on a 64bit motherboatd cannot recognise more than old 32bit amount of ram installed.
