    Overclocking Boards

Hey people, Im trying to concentrate some OC mobo's by budget, give me some models
you may specify ofcourse who is the best and stuff like that

its already categorized by budger folkes
anymore recommendations for intel would be welcome and also lets start seeing some AMD recommendations.

*all prices are retail and mostly from one specific store so you may get much better deals than those who are mentioned in the table below.

Im talking both Intel and AMD, but lets start with something and not everything
    so intel 1st?
Well my first recommendation is to stay the heck away from the 680i boards for the time being...

assuming you are from IL, like me , i would say wait a week or so. the DFI's (both 965 & 680i) should be here very soon.

personally i'm after a MoBo for my E6320 too, it will be my 1st Intel build since 2000 so i'm waiting.

back to your topic, when you say OC, what OC are you after? cause you understand, that for running some uber fast speeds, you'll need an uber cooling which i can't see in your sig. another fact, your RAM is 667MHz how much do you think you'll be able to extract from it?
if i was to buy now, considering your HSF & RAM, i would say:
    >> ABIT IB9, if your budget is limited. personally i've been considering it for a while. take a look: http://pcstory.tistory.com/tag/IB9 (all you need is to understand the pics)
    >> ASUS P5B
    >> ASUS P5N-E SLI, works very good for some users
    >> ABIT FP-IN9, same as the P5N-E SLI good for some & bad for others!
    >> or wait a couple of days for the DFI 965 Infinity.

    IB9 and E4300

Your not going to find a cheaper board then the IB9, with the oc features it has.

ASUS P5W64 WS Pro - Medium budget - Max FSB 470 on 975X
ASUS Commando - Medium budget - Max FSB 500+ on 965
    eVGA 680i RevA1 - Medium budget - Max FSB 500+ on 680i

ASUS P5B Deluxe - Medium Low budget - Max FSB 500+ on 965
    Gigabyte DS3 Pro Rev3.3 - Low budget - Max FSB 500+ on 965

That's using a Core2Duo and the max FSB is not guaranteed.

Just a few to get you started

SLi_dog, I think you've got your categories wrong. I mean, P5W64 WS Pro, Commando and eVGA 680i in the medium budget category? I wonder what do you consider to be high end...

OK, IMO this would be the budget category, starting with the cheapest:

    Gigabyte 965P-S3
    Gigabyte 965P-DS3
    Abit IB9
    MSI P6N SLI-FI
    Asus P5N-E SLI
    Asus P5B
    Gigabyte 965P-DS3P

If you really want something good, go for the new DFI 965-S or at least for Abit AB9 QuadGT or Asus P5B-E-Plus, but I think you'd be better off waiting for the new P35 boards.

thanx alot, but im really not waiting for anything, just checking stuff out :P
ill add the ones you wrote, but still:
do the S3 and DS3 clock the same? what is there limit? thanx.

oh, and people please try and mention max or\and avg clock.
right now the missing information is clocks for the following:
    ABIT IB9
    ABIT AB9 - QUADGT
    ASUS P5B
    DFI 965-SGigabyte 965P-S3
    Gigabyte 965P-DS3P

    ABIT FP-IN9
    ASUS P5N-E SLI
    MSI P6N SLI-FI

    and bring some AMD mobos.

Yeah, if you look at the most expensive and the least expensive they're fall in the medium price range

    This is in Australian currency.

    Striker Extreme $470
    ABIT IN9 32X MAX 680i $470

    ASUS P5W64 $360
    ASUS Commando $310
    eVGA 680i A1 $330

    ASUS P5B Deluxe $250
    Gigabyte DS3 Pro Rev3.3 $180

I see what your saying but also you must have a "Zero Point", the lowest budget, if this is something like 60US$ for Lowest Budget then a board which costs 360AUD [something like 300USD. right?] is more then medium budget, was that clear? felt like a bunch of nonsense to me
