    Insulate well, keep condensor clean of dust, check fans every now and again, have fun

    O/T - I've never laughed so much whilst sitting in front of a computers. This thread has made my day!!!!

    NoL - Burn wood, take in oxygen from air - mainly carbon in wood becomes CO and CO2 - reduces residual mass of wood. Water in wood evaporates also which reduces residual mass of wood. Mass in = Mass out, system mass is consant.

    in a chemical reaction, if it were even possible to convert mass -to- energy to a minutely measurable amount of decrease in weight (eg. 0.00001 Kg) the energy yield would be so intense that just by being line of sight of a flame (be it a lighter or a burning leaf) it would be so bright you would go blind, burn you hair off, instant sunburn, ionizing radiation exposure, so on and so on.

    Its simple math

    using Albert Einstein's famous equation E=MC², this proves that a piece of mass smaller then a dust particle can produce enough energy as to make my body move 17 miles. If your not good with math just scroll down to the bottom for the result.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Formulas:

    “Einstein’s Theory E=MC²” Joules = Kilograms (speed of light)²

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    I weigh 150 lbs and I can run about 17Mph tops. so if I run a total of 17 miles (at any speed, but ill say in an hour) I think I will burn ~2015 calories.
    The conversion of calories to joules is:

    1 calorie (4.18) = Joules (variable will be J)

    2015(4.18) = 8422.7

    So if I run 17 miles I produce 8422.7 Joules.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    To find out how much mass I would need to revert to pure energy to produce the same amount of energy it takes for me to run for 17 miles I would need to setup the formula E=MC² as:

    E/C²=M and then fill in the variables.

    8422.7 Joules / (2.99x10^8)² speed of light = M in Kilograms

    8422.7 / 8.9401x10^16 = M

    M = 9.42x10^-14 in Kilograms
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    To convert kilograms to pounds:

    1 Kilogram (2.205) = Lbs.

    9.42x10^-14 (2.205) = Lbs.

    Lbs. = 2.08x10^-13
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    So if my calculations are correct it should only take
    0.00000000000208 pounds or two trillionths of a pound of mass to produce the same amount of energy I could produce if I ran for 17 miles?

    Think of how much energy you would produce if you burned a piece of wood and lost 0.001 lbs. (0.00045 Kg)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    E=(0.00045)(2.99x10^8)²

    E=(0.00045)(8.9401x10^16)

    E=40230450000000

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    You would have produced 40,230,450,000,000 Joules, or 11,175,125 Kilowatt Hours

    I would'nt want to own a fire-place in this case

    I've seen some of Sneils work, its good, shouldnt have any suprises.
    See what you've started NoL???!!!!!

    But why can't I get you guys to start simpler, buy or go to your library and read a good Reference Book on refrigeration.
    The Laws of Thermodynamics say:

    Zeroth Law: "You must play the game."
    First Law: "You can't win."
    Second Law: "You can't break even."
    Third Law: "You can't quit the game."

    Do you wanna Play Thermodynamics ???????? I forgot "you must"

    Exactly.

    If you guys want to flex your brains OT in someones thread, there's a different section for it.

    Besides the fact that someone asked a reasonable question and got quantum mechanics thrown at him, it doesn't have anything directly to do with refrigeration in any way that matters.

    Thread closed.
