    Angry Overclocking-Problems with P4 2,533

    Hi there,

im just trying to overclock my p4 northwood 2,5 to more than 3 ghz. it seems that my mainboard (ASUS P4T533-C) does not support more than 150 mhz FSB. because the multiplicator is fixed at 19 the best clock-rate I am able to get is 2850 MHz (19x150). Does anyone of you know a way how I could reach 3 ghz and more without throwing away board or CPU? (At the moment I am thinking about buying a P4 2,4 which seems to be much better for overclocking because of its higher multiplicator OR getting an ABIT i845E-W83627HF because of its support for higher FSB-rates).

well, what do you think about that?

    thanks in advance :-)

I'd look for a mobo (or maybe a biosupdate for yours?) where you can raise fsb higher dan 150, higher fsb is better dan higher cpu multiplier. So, if i'm not wrong, it is better having a cpu that's a little slower (eg 2266 multi 17) then a faster one with a high multi where you can't go that high on fsb. Conclusion, better a high fsb than a high multiplier! Could be wrong though.

    Hi,
I am also trying to overclock my 2.53GHz pentium 4. What on the mother borad do I adjust. The bios config wont let me change anything. If I couls get it to 2850mhz that would be great.

    Thanks
    Shawn

Im using an ASUS P4T533-C. I just gave the P4 2,533 back in order to buy a P4 2,4 which has a multiplicator of 24 and FSB of 100. Now I got almost the same problem. Im totally unable to get it to more than 24x122. I got Kingston 1066 RIMMs and a Koolance watercooler-System. I tried to raise VCORE in small steps until 1,75 with no effect. :-( I'd very appreciate if some1 had an Idea.
