to do that i first have to find somewhere that CAN do it and knows wot they doing and i dont know of anywhere in uk thats done this, let alone in london, then i have to find out how much they going to charge me for it.

and before all that, i wanna make sure it isnt going to kill my mach2 within a few months, and make sure i dont have to run the fans at full (noisy) speed to prevent that.

Well thought i would give a small update.
got in my new cans of r404a.still waiting on fitting to make up the hoses for the cooling head.

you guys think i have enough?

looking good bowman, im looking forward to seeing how that hose works out. are you going to run the cap tube thru the suction line to gain subcooling? that is what i am doing on my system that i just finished, but it is so far untested...it sounds like a good idea, all of the heat removed from the cap tube ends up being removed at the condenser so i guess you would have to have the fans at full speed or a bigger condenser.

great idea bowman, since you have an ample amount of cap tube why not make multiple passes. never thought of that. heating of the cap tube however will increase your superheat and that heat has to go somwhere...the condenser (or the compressor crank case i could imagine), can the prommie condenser take the added load? i have never seen how large a prommy condenser is in person, but it seems rather small in pictures. it seems that the added heat from r404a and the increased superheat that keeping the same fan might not be enough to maintain condensation, or atleast healthy high side pressure levels. hehe who am i to talk, i am just speculating. tell me if i am wrong.

thats one of the things I am working on also.i will be getting up with xtwerkz to talk about that.they sent me this one for OPP to be upgraded and repaired.after this is done i will wait and see what they and OPP think about it.
then you will see prices from a simple change out to a full system change and upgrade like this one.

well i was plannin on having spent 650 like 2months ago then bailed and went tec since i had wc already...now i want more more more and i got a job makin about 2k a month and now a prommi is 450!! so if it costs like 200 bux for the upgrade sign me up!

Hell round trip shipping alone would be $100 for most folks, I'd pay a couple of hundred to get a promie upgraded !

guys i would like to tell how much this upgrade will cost,but right now i havent even though about it.
i can tell you one thing.i will have lots more than 200 in this one.the first one is always the most expensive.as i am trying to figure out how to suppy a kit for do it yourself ( maybe) or full blown change over.
when OPP's is finished and after he and xtwerkz.com have tested it out.we will decide how much and options there will be.

i am still waiting on a fitting i need to make the flex hose attach to the prometia factory tubing.i hope next week it will be here.

well i live within an hour drive to xtwerks so im not worried about shipping...

but are the other mods besides changing the gas really necessary?

Cap tube needs to be replace. Need to adj the lenght base on the refrigerant and desired temperature.

Flexible hose, to prevent the same problem Opp had with his prom.

ya i think bow said the freon wont charge fully or somethin so u wont get full potential out of the r404

Bowman, I have a question on the suction line. Does it make much of a difference for the length? Or just fit to suit. I know that having the cap line a certain length is very important. Can the suction line get too long? And where can I grab some of this hose you are talking about?

sorry i have been working late.i am just checking the pages tonight.the suction line isnt very inportant lenght wise.i try to make mine a little long to help give any left over refrigerant time to boil off.
the flex hose i use can be made at most any auto parts store.
if you need it i can supply you with parker hose part numbers and where to go in your area if you give me the state and town.

They can pretty much make anything you want. When I was doing marine refrigeration, they just said give us what you need, and we'll make it. When I bring stuff in, they usually make it right there on the spot, about a half hour wait if they aren't busy.
