    Mine didn't either. Had to invade another person's computer, drag my mobo tray in and do the installation in front of them. I've been quite unhappy with DD's fall from grace. They need to get their act together. Luckily, a specific e-retailer was kind enough to send me replacement parts for the missing stuff at their cost.

    Are we talking about the metal washers that came with it or plastic washers purchased somewhere else?

    Been out for awhile. Just caught up with this thread....It would seem that we got different sheets with our "680i Maze 4" blocks.

    Here's what I got;

    This shows my confusion as to the jam nuts, and probably half the other folks as well. These instructions imply that the 4-40 posts need jam nuts on the top side of the board. I got four, 4-40 threaded rods. Not two as pictured, so I thought this kit was ready for the 680i. I know printed directions can lag a manufacture, so I went with the directions provided, looked at the DD website for updates, and found none.

    As Echn111 says, why would I place a jam on the top of the board since there are obvious traces there? I asked the same thing. Aurora apparently got a newer kit, since he saw the same issue, but from a different context, since he didn't even get the misleading directions I got.

    Bottom line is this, don't stick the jam nut on top without a nylon washer, or you'll let the smoke out of your board.

    To Ranker, we are talking about cutting a "nylon shoulder washer", as in the pic above to clear the chip in question. 20-20 hindsight, I would do as Echn111 did and skip the top jam nuts altogether. But, since my machine is not currently burning, I can say the modded shoulder washer works too. I cut mine such that the jam nut does not press on the chip below.

    My other suggestion to DD is to provide 4-40 screws and not posts. Posts usually use the jam nuts to secure the post from coming loose. If they had provided screws, we likely wouldn't be having this thread.

    Regards,
    Bob

    Bob,

    You'd still need 4 nylon washers to go between the screw heads and the bottom of the board. The only way they can get away with 4 nylon washers is in the scenario on the sheet you scanned, which is what was included with my DD 680i block. They added the extra posts, nuts, springs, and sleeves, but completely forgot the extra nylon washers required for a 4 post install. I figured I was just shortchanged those 4 washers in an isolated incident, but it seems like most of us are missing the same parts. This leads me to believe that DD doesn't even realize that they're making the mistake. But then again, I did buy the block from Jab-tech, so maybe they're the ones taking the washers out of the 680i kits in order to conspire against Danger Den! :P

    Yup RX7, I totally agree. I'll shoot DD an email pointing to this thread. (I'm a "local" for them.) You're probably right that they may not even know of the issue. The chip clearance issue is also important for them to know.....

    Just got one of these and I've been shorted 4 washers too. I'm not convinced the solution is to not run the jam nuts on top as then when you adjust the brass knurl up top, theres nothing to stop the rod from unscrewing at the bottom.

    Not impressed with the quality - there are scratch marks on my lucite from when a tool has slipped attaching it to the block.
