We all know reported clocks dont show Shader action.... A modded BIOS to give higher shader clocks would do it, and I KNOW a lot of guys use modded BIOS.

    Tighter RAM timings?
    Boosted Shader clocks?

I thought we were past this

Vince has laid down a great score (well...2) and others have been inspired to go and push what they know and what their gear can do...is that not whats its all about?

Do what K404? I heard that modifying shader clocks was a myth

I thought we were past this
    Past what?

I have my own card bios's that I tested/made which I use to bench my cards btw .

Ever since G70, it's the only way to go for the top.

I thought/hoped we (XS) were past the hoo-ha over Kevs benches.

Do you mean modding the shaders at all, or just modding/fine-tuning them to get better scores? I could mod my shader clocks and everyone could go "bloody hell his scores are crazy for the clocks" (or....no-one could care!)

Exactly...you have your own GPU BIOS You modded them to give you the performance you want, and its paid off. This isnt an insult at you, but if you can do it, so can others, to give the performance they want.

This post is (sadly) goin back over old ground that should have been left a long time ago, but at least I can say I didnt start it up again.

    Your scores are still great

This is mainly off-topic- any hate mail, PM me it please!

    Whose benches?

Do my questions hint to you where I am at spiritually with regards to certain issues/benches/benchers?

and the rest of the competition has had since november launch to put up heavy scores. New HW is approaching soon, so if others won't max out current gen, I certainly don't mind to give it a shot . I havent even bothered to post decent scores in the HOF for almost whole time of g80.

Cant say I really looked at your questions I was using your comments towards Hipro, sorry, didnt make it "clearly implied" I try not to be TOO explicit or head-on when i`m disagreeing with someone (not you)

Hrmm...easy does it guys, draw your own conclusions means just that and nothing more.

I'm going to say something that should be obvious. If you guys think that hipro and kp and the other top benchers just wake up every now and then and go "gee, let's make some big 3D scores today," then plop their containers on, dump some LN2 in and cross their fingers and hope for the best, you would be sorely mistaken. The highest scores are all too often among the best optimized as well.

    Exactly what it means.
Alot have asked me to run 05' at those clocks on the striker with approved drivers, so there it is.
In the end gotta have it all working, not there just yet.
The scores can still go so much higher in 01' with more work
I'm guessing the upcoming month the numbers will be great, then it transitions to new Gen non-stop.
