KX7-333 Settings

Hey guys,
i was just fooling around in the KX7-333 bios, and there was some things in the bios that i diddnt recognise such as

- Under the Soft Menu
Ratio : 3:2:1, 4:2:1, and 5:2:1
Speed Error Hold : Enable or Disable
Enhance For Benchmark : Enable or Disable



and what are the best memory settings for my kingmax PC2700 ram?

ok here's how it goes,
Ratio 3:2:1 is a 1/2 pci divider I believe which will run your fsb at 66mhz while your pci bus would be running at 33mhz and your agp at 66mhz
Ratio 4:2:1 is a 1/4 pci divider which will run your fsb at 133 while your pci bus would be running 33mhz and your agp at 66mhz
Ratio 5:2:1 is a 1/5pci divider which will run your fsb at 166 while your pci bus will be at 33mhz. Remeber that upping your fsb above these default settings will also run your agp and pci busses at increased speeds aswell.

Speed Error Hold :Enable Disable
You should disable this feature if you are going to overclock, all this does is tell the system not to proceed if the system is running above default frequencies. It will lock the system up after counting the ram in the system startup.

Enhance For Benchmark: Enable\Disable,
This sounds to me like a turbo setting implemented by the mobo manufacturer, if you want to overclock manually you should disable this feature, however if you want a slight performance boost but you are not wanting to overclock you should enable this feature.

Also somewhere in your bios you should see some settings like this,
SDRAM CAS Latency: Set this to 2.0 if possible
SDRAM RAS To CAS Delay: Set this to 2T
SDRAM RAS Precharge Time:Set this to 2T
SDRAM Active To Precharge Delay:Set this to 5T
(your board may or may not have this next one)
SDRAM 1T Command Control:Set to 1T if possible
Also Try enabling 4 Way Bank Interleaving if possible,
Whew I think that pretty much sums it all up, I hope this helps ya man.

sorry for my late replies guys (been very busy lately)
hmmmm .5 that sounds ok...well its not much but every little bit helpes doesnt it! hehe...

does it actually help that much though? will i notice a higher 3dmark/sandra score with this enabled?

In fact it's the FSB/PCI 1/3 divider , so FSB 100MHz ( 200 ) , PCI 33Mhz , AGP 66 Mhz .

That is extremely cool. We just need 0.01MHz FSB increases for maximum tweakage .

Hi all! My understanding (from the ABIT manual) of 3:2:1, 4:2:1 and 5:2:1 - these options become available when you select User Defined in SoftMenu and define a FSB of your choice. Whatever your choice was is then applied according to which of the three ratios you select. So if you use 4:2:1 (default) and have selected 133 for FSB, the AGP freq. will be 133 divded by 4, times 2 = 66.5 (as per specs). The PCI freq is 133/4 times 1 = 33.25. But if you choose a FSB of 165 and use the 5:2:1 ratio, voila! 165/5 times 2 = 66 for AGP, and 165/5 times 1 = 33 for PCI. You've oc'd the FSB, but kept the AGP and PCI right on spec. Now if I can only figure out how to keep my (probably poorly) unlocked 2200+ stable on my AT7...
