    Thx Rubicon!!

As I see from your fotos you must have Apogee right??

    How did you mount it??
With the original mounting kit for 775 i couldn't tighten enough so I replaced the spring with the black spacers for opterons-I've removed the ''hold down top''...

    ReaperX,
Besides being fearful I'd kill my chip I'm also hesitant about removing the IHS because I don't think the benefit is all that great? With that said though when really pushing your ship I think 1-2C might make a small difference? So are you dissapointed about the small temp difference or is that about what you expected?

The "solder" (gallium/tin/indium alloy) can be easily removed completely with jewelry polish paste.
My E6400 wasn't so lucky back in november 06. The black swan of death carried her away...

Now that you've had the IHS off for a while have you been able to gain any Mhz on the clockspeed (depsite the small decrease in temps)?

    Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?

Yes, how did you heat the core up? Great job by the way, did you use heatsink or waterblock?

    Hi

I used hair dryer for this job. Easy 10 minutes and IHS bye, bye.

For cooling we used Tuniq Tower or Frost3Duo ( waterblock )
