    I hate its layout.

What about the people that use a Crossfire and 2 PCI cards (audio + ageia)?

Rampage will be top mb for ASUS x48 series. Exactly like blitz for p35 and maximus for x38 series.

LOL, let's hope NOT! Maximus Formula has great performance, but is pure BS.

I think asus needs a class in motherboard layout, I don't think I've seen an asus board with a good layout since the A8n-SLI

As promised, performance comparison between X48 and X38.

    strap 200:

(X48 on left, X38 on right)

    strap 266:

    strap 333:

    strap 400:

    express gate :]

    bios:

What is really interesting, is fact that used CPU could do stable FSB500@air, which was not possible on any other board before... hmm...
    Any comments are welcome

Cool cool! How is the P5E3 Premium running? Are you able to maintain 500MHz FSB on the Quad?

What do you not like about the Maximus Extreme? The card setup?

The way I see it, remove the Asus soundcard and replace it with a PCIe soundcard. Then use the PCI slot.

I wish ASUS would offer a step up from the maximus to the rampage.

I can't make out the rev on the board, it's far too blurry. But the PCB is indentical to that of the Maximus, which I expected since X48 is just higher binned X38 in reality. I'd expect rev2 or something?

Is this board going to be delayed like the other x48 ones because of Intel's decision to clear x38's stock first?

I am still thinking of going to DDR3 with this board or not.

    Worth going to DDR3?

I still use DDR1/DDR2 while playing with DDR3 ... performance to price ratio, DDR2 just can't be beat right now compared with DDR3.

I just wish there were mem dividers for DDR3 higher than 1:2 as we're really cpu FSB limited right now heh

    lol ohh ok

i just hate the names asus give to boards, especially the maximus formula, blitz forumla, all this bull dust.

Just keep it with numbers and letters ( like the p5k deluxe, etc ), looks better and doesn't sound childish like rampage formula "sigh" @ asus.

Other then that i love asus boards, BLACK PCB FTW!

    not like gigashat kids colour

Any news on the overclockability of these boards? Or is it the same as the X38 boards? Also, is the 4:5 FSB:RAM divider fixed?
