B1 vs. B2 vs. B3 Conroe/Kentsfield Time Difference on SuperPi

I keep reading that B2 is faster than B1. Is this true?

Also, is B3 faster than B2?

If they are, how much faster are the new steppings than the previous ones (i.e. if B3 is faster than B2, then by how much?)

I'm sure it's not significantly faster but to some degree, right?

B1 Vs B2 is pretty significant in 32m, just looks through the 32m low clock thread, there's a lot of discussion on it.

In short, if you're serious about benching Pi, you will want a B2.

Actually, the difference is quite noticeable. At 3.6Ghz, single 32m difference is about 28 seconds between my B1 and B2.

Thanks for the info. I figured that the B2 faster.

It's interesting though that in short tests like 1M it wouldn't make a difference but in a long run like 32M you can see a difference.

    Hmm... I guess it's time to find me a nice B2 6600!

Has anyone done a comparison of the B3 Kent vs. B2 Conroe in superpi to see if the new step/rev is faster?

    Of course you have!

    Thanks!

Now it'll be interesting to see how the new 1333 conroe's compare. Aren't these E0/1/2 rev?
