    Unhappy Commando + e6300es Stuck at 490fsb and insta-freezing :(

    Heya guys.

    Quick rundown:
I've got an e6300es step5 b1, Asus commando, latest(only?) revision, a few sticks of ram that an do 1050+ and a big ol' Big Typhoon.

Thing is, I'm stuck dead in my tracks at 490fsb. I can SPI all day long at 490 at stock volts on CPU, NB, FSB etc.

Whenever I setfsb to 495, it freezes, then resets. I've tried upping NB, FSB, SB, CPU volts and everything else in bios, and none of it seems to make any difference.

Is there something I'm missing here?

I've set RAM 4:5 and It's quite happy to SPI at 1050, so that's not the problem.

I'm getting very frustrated, sooo close to 500 >.<

    Hi..Thats one hell of a overclock for a E6300

you can get so hi and then it just stops in its tracks at 490 fsb..
i think your at your cpu limit..if increase of vcore fsb termination and Nb vcore dosnt help only thing i can suggest is do the Vdroop mod.

i dont know if it will make a differance but you could try.

my sons E6300 clapped out at 470 fsb with good memory and vdroop mod done.

I actually toasted a P5b delux board trying to go Harder..so it wasnt worth it in the long run. i wanted that 100 % oc but it wasnt to be

4:5 ratio? It suppose to be 1:1... Don't tell your Commando is worst than my P5B vanilla?

i used 4:5 only for testing the ram, i usually run 1:1

What I don't get is why it stops dead in it's tracks

I mean, it can run everything at bone stocl voltages allll the way to 490, and no mattre what more i give it, it gives up.

    There's something amiss that i haven't changed :/

first off you are not running stock volts if you leave it set to auto, as clock speed increases it automatically increases voltages. you need to start again by manually setting up your volt settings in bios and testing as you increase speed. some times too much voltage will kill an oc so only increase as needed. your board needs the right amount of power to do its job too much or to little will both cause problems. also what speed are you booting at? if you are booting below 401 then you are on a tighter strap and will run into a wall sooner.

    I'm booting at 450.

I always set voltages to stock manually, auto is evil, i know this :P
