    yeah this is known,
i havent gotten one myself, but it was known when it was released it would work in windows, just gotta get the drivers.

i cherish not having to replace hundreds of DVD's to HD DVD's just to watch it in a new clarity. heck i dont even want to have to go thru and replace one.

one thing you have to also think about is that anything thats prior to the last year or two is simply an upscaled video burnt to DVD as it was never originally recorded in HD.

newer movies are or atleast some of them.

and MS is really pushing hard for the whole "Live" thing which includes the 360 and Vista and a whole slew of crossovers. 360 stuff on the pc pc stuff on the 360.. etc etc..

the 360 Live Vision Camera works in windows also,, you cant really use it as a standard web cam but you can take single pictures with it.
same for the controllers, i use my 360 controller in windows all the time for games.

Do you really notice a difference on a 20" LCD? The only application of this I can think of is for HTPC.

You can pry open the xbox 360 HD DVD if you really want to and just stick it in the case. I got mines when it was just out, for w/e reason CC had it for 150$ Works great on the plasma and on my LCD, Microsoft has actual drivers for it now too. I purchased WinDVD8 with the Bluray/HD-DVD addon from japan to get it to work though.

I figured since Porn industry picked up VHS, and is now adopting HD DVD. HD DVD is probably going to win. Plus, I got 5 free movies for buying the HD DVD player :-)

But yeah, I defiantly want a HD/BR drive for my HTPC but Very unwilling to pay 1100 dollars for it.
