For looks! Probs build the things then acid dip or blast them to clean up but look migning so dip the thing in nickle plating to make it look nice which it does and more costly. Us lapping the base anyway means we get 100% flat base then

Be interesting to see the ultra 120+, this thing and water layed out in a chart. Wondering just how close these things are.

Could the cpu cooling industry finally be listening to the consumer...? Dual 120/140mm fan support...!? FINALLY! :-) Not like it wasn't possible before, but these CPUs have the surface area for it:-)

shame there are as yet not enough good 140mm fans out there. Finding a decent one is going to be an arse.

Any ETA when Thermalright is rolling both of these monsters out to market? Reincarnating my rig as C2D later this week and I don't want to be running stock HSF unless I really have to.

Personally I'd go Gooler Master GeminII...it'll cool all your other components as well..also the best reviews around here for a while

just because it gives off some remaining 5cfm of already warmed air on surrounding parts, doesn't mean it will cool then properly. Whats a house fan going to do in the desert?

Most of the heatsinks I've used do not generate much heat when the air passes through. The air doesn't feel as hot as the air that leaves a GPU cooler exhaust at all.

And when I used TT Typhoon vs. my Ultra 120 I didn't need to use the optional crossflow fan on my Stacker to achieve 24 hour stability. Now that I'm using the Ultra 120 I need the crossflow fan.

Don't count out the usefulness of the Gemini just yet.

I want a good review against Ultra-120, Ultra-120+, Tuniq Tower and Scythe Infinity. I already know it will pwn them all, but I need a written proof

yes most likely. I had a very hard time with a Tuniq in a PC-V1000.

    What's better then a: Coolermaster Geminii +2x SilenX iXtrema PRO 120mm 18dBa ????

Should I buy it or go for something else? Or wait on the incomming ones?

I need it to hold a X2 4600+ toledo(939) @ 2800/3000mhz on max 55C, will it make the deal? Is it good enough? Or any other suggestions?

dont get silenX, they arent as quiet as you think. Two yate loons should do the job.

I have the SilenX fan in question, and it really is quiet. How quiet I'm not sure I don't have a dBa meter, but it is quieter than my Aerocool that was rated at 35dBa and it pushes a lot more air. The problem that I've heard is they can't handle back pressure. Which might be true as my SI-128 felt like there was more air coming through with the Aerocool over the SilenX.

    Just my two cents.

So actually will the Coolermaster Geminii +2x SilenX iXtrema PRO 120mm 18dBa deal with my x2 4600+ (toledo 939) @ 2800-3000 proper? Holding it quite cold, also 50/55C max? Becouse I really won't go for more, as 3000 mhz is fast enough for me.. just need to know if the geminii will be good enough to deal with it and hold proper temperatures.. anyone can comfirm?

My SI-128 gives a substantial cooling to my mobo over my Tuniq. And that's blowing "already warmed" air as well. It does make a big difference for mobo temps.

man. thermalright is looking so good with these new coolers.

also, i expect that thermalright is considering the IX-14 to be generally a better performer than the ultra-120 EXTREME, since they have always sort of displayed their coolers in descending order on their website insofar as performance.

having seen the impressive as hell performance of the ultra-120 extreme, ... i can only imagine how much better the IX-14 could be. love the backside cooler idea.
