I agree. Put a fan in between and it should be awesome. Top of the line heatsinks are getting so big you should be able to run them without a fan at stock speeds.

I don't see either of the newest coolers mentioned on Thermalright's site? Where are they listed at?

Look again, the IFX-14 is listed under Intel heatsinks at the top of the page.

I would love to see the base finish on those. As far as I recall , thermalright doesnt pay a whole lot of attention on base finishes and that might be where Ultra-X might win , but then again , brute force might win thermalright the medal. But would be interesting to see how this performs with a slow silent fan like a yateloon ???

thats why we do a little something called "lapping" over here on xtreme systems

as far as the fans go....I would probably buy three 14cm yate loons for this, that is if one can fit in the middle.

you can run quite a few sinks without a fan already. I run my E4300 24/7 @ 2.4GHz, with a fanless Noctua NH-U12.

But man is that thing a beast.

Includes a back-side dual heatpipe heatsink (patent pending), which not only additionally cools your CPU but also takes care of the heat coming from the back of the motherboard to extend the life expectancy and stability of your motherboard
I'd like to see more on that...could be handy for Phase boys, water cooling and air as we know...anyone got info

umm since Both AMD and Intel are planning on sticking below the 95w mark and given the recent nature of AMD. Doesn't it seem kinda wasteful of a design?
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Isn't the purpose of these hugh sinks are for overclocking, not stock cooling?

LMFAO I said this two days ago about the Ultra 120 Extreme...

Am I visualizing this right? http://www.thermalright.com/

    "Back-side Heatsink
    - Dimension : L134.5 x W163.5 x H112.6 mm (heatsink only)
    - Weight : 130g (heatsink only)
    - Recommended Fan : All 80mm & 70mm Fan"

At any rate... this thing looks very good... Testing should be interesting.

You mean like spending $800 on a phase cooler or $400 on water?
