    Arrow BIOS ROM chip!

    Hi guys

Hope this is the right section for this seeing it is an ABIT/Intel issue (AW8 MAX)!

I recently have got this issue with my 2nd PC: 'BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR'
I have googled it and it comes down to maybe two things, either my chip/bios files are faulty or may motherboard is dead.

So i'd like to replace the BIOS ROM chip first to rule out that my mobo isn't dead! But i can't find a place online in the UK to buy a new BIOS ROM chip.

Do you guys know of any online stores i can buy this chip from?

    Any help much appreciated...

    Thanx

www.recoverybios.com - quick shipping, not very expensive, used them a dozen times with great results

BIOS ROM checksum error may not be as bad as you think it is.
Remove CMOS battery, and clear CMOS overnight.

Additionally, some chipsets have a protection feature that allows you to use a floppy to reflash the BIOS even if there is a checksum error.
