    My first Dry Ice Session

After large preperation, it was done: My first Dry Ice session! I made a lot of pics to show how I did my first session.

    1. Purchase basket
    1.1 DICE Tube
First of all: The DICE Tube, built by Stummerwinter from Germany.

The tube with screws and isolation:

    Container from above

    Here the structure:

    1.2 Little things

    Vaseline:

    Something to see the temperature

    Exactly for the container

    Washing bottle

    Silicon paste

    Eye protector

I also ordered a cheaply graphic card, just for secure, that my 7800gtx remains alive

    All together

    1.3 There is Dry Ice!
Here are two pics, DICE coming to me.

    2. Mainboard: ready to be launched!
    2.1 Vmods

    Vdroop & Vcore mod

    2.2 Vaseline & Thermal compound

    Vaseline around the base area

    The vaseline spray again

You can't see any much, but here the result:

    In the base:

    Don't forget the thermal compound

    3. DICE in action!
build up the tower on the Mainboard:

    Let's begin!

Take off the Mainboard, just for secure

    The dice inside the container

    Temp goes down(37,4 Fahrenheit):

    Alcohol in the tube

    Nice effect!

    Temp sinks(-4,0 Fahrenheit)...

    and sinks(-23,8 Fahrenheit)...

    sinks much more(-88,6 Fahrenheit)...

-75°C (-103 Fahrenheit) was the lowest temp I reached.

    The view above

    Turn on the cumputer *fear*

    Yeah!! it works!!!

    5. Result
After I tested 4 hours, I came to a result. Here my Config:

    - Core2 Duo E6600 ES
    - P5B Deluxe
    - Corsair XMS2

    The result watercooled:
    Core2 Duo E6600 2,400ghz@3,942ghz / Vcore 1,6 / Fsb 438 / Timings: 4-4-4-15 / Watercooled / 13,000s

    with Dice:
    Core2 Duo E6600 2,400ghz@4,585ghz / Vcore 1,635 / Fsb 509,5 / Timings: 4-4-4-8 / DICE / 11,312s

    600mhz more

    Sorry for my bad english!

great I like treads with lot of pictures , put some more vcore to the CPU u will be pleased with boost u can go up to ~1.9V with dry ice with no problemo. And put some fan around pot so u can blow away condensation from board.

    Born to overclock

Thanks for helpfull tips Coming up next time i will do my next session!

@Nordling: Yes its endinering sample! I Tried to go up with the Vcore but I think my Vcore Mod was buggy. I only could costum until 1,75 Vcore and then I saw black screen . The CPU also has a fsb wall. Watercooled I only get 3,8 stable.

    Nice photo and cpu pot

Score good for ES and water, DI action and 600MHz more at low vcore, not bad

    Excellent start and pictures

Here are some things that I use, maybe you will find it useful

    * You can replace vaseline with armaflex/neophrene pad in the base. Not so messy then Often I don't use anything at all, no really needed with DI

    * At start, put a few (crashed) DI pellets in container and then boot into bios at default volts. Then add more and a bit acetone and watch your temps climb down. This way you can be sure cold is not the one that prevents booting at the very start

    * use a lot of fans

    DI is fun, good luck

    Too expensive .
In Serbia DI cost ~0.56€/kg and LN2 cost ~1.75€/l .

    Awesome freq
You should really consider doing a bit of tweaking when you reaches that high frequencies.. Its a bit of a shame seeing 0,02sec with a 100mhz less on a untweaked setup.. :\

Especially since you got mods and all..

    Keep up the good work

Nice set of pics and sweet clocks!

Anyway, Vaseline is definitely not required... I've only used it once myself but never again and never ever killed something due to lack of insulation. The only board for which I've used Vaseline was a Bad Axe... a Bad Axe which later died under standard conditions, and for which it was very boring to remove the Vaseline prior to send it for RMA.
