    new Corasir user...Dominator 8500

hey guys, I am a noob here but totally new to building computers. I finally steped out of the AMD side with an asus A8N-SLI, X2 4800, 2Gb Gskil ddr 400 2.5-3-3-6, and an EVGA 7800GT superclocked.

I am replacing it with an EVGA 680i MB, Intel QX6700, 2Gb corsair dominator 8500, and an EVGA 8800GTX KO ACS3.

I am curious as to how I would go about handling the memory when I overclock the CPU. with AMD it was somewhat easier because the memory speed was not related to the FSB.

    school me.....please

Essentially, you have 2 modes, linked and unlinked. With linked, your CPU FSB adjustments will also adjust the memory and will be dependent upon what ratio you select. You have several options including 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, etc. I don't have the board handy so you'll need to look it over. Using unlinked, you can adjust the memory speed independent of the CPU speed. There are LOTS of 680i based tweaking guides about that do a much better job than I do of explaining the bios.

Have fun, sounds like a nice rig.
