Danger Den Black Ice GT Stealth 360 vs. Danger Den Black Ice Xtreme III Radiator

    What's the deal?

Danger Den Black Ice GT Stealth 360 vs. Danger Den Black Ice Xtreme III Radiator

Which one is better? The specs on the GT stealth say it gives the same performance in a thinner package.....

i have the bix III and it is really hard on fans, i.e. high fin density, therefore loud. i dont know how it stacks up to the stealth. i cant really comment with my temps as my rig is apart and being revised

The Stealth is designed with lower cfm fans in mind due to its fin spacing whereas he BIX is designed to work best with ultra high cfm fans...

Just a reminder the BIX!!! hold twice the water and HAS TWICE the Flow of the GTS stealth...

Ive ran both side by side....The GTS has more back presshure where the BIX !!! flows twice the amount...

The Bix !!! and GTS using panaflow 86cfm fans...
The Bix !!! gave me lower Load Temp and Lower Idle .
Both were run with a D-Tek W/B and 655 pump..

THE GTS likes Medium FLOW(50cfm) to High FLOW(86cfm+) fans for it to cool decent ..

    Note:
A MCR does better than the GTS hands down with either Low or High CFM fans.. The BIX !!! using low CFM performs better than the MCR with Medium/High CFM,,Because of Flow rate and Water Volume..
    GTS/MCR 12rows/Restictive flow Vs BIX!!!24rows High FLow.

Quality and cooling capacity i chose BIX !!! over MCR and GTS.
Fans to run on BIX !!! I recomend 86cfm for optimal function(low CFM works great too).. BIX !!! will handle multiple blocks(VidGPUcooler/NbCooler) easier..Water Flow Rate is close to double that of the MCR/GTS .

For the Price (below $55bucks easy),,High water Volume ,,Highest cooling with Low or High CFM fans the Bix !!! A nice durable heavy contender in the Midrange Rads.
    ,,

If you cant fit the BIX!!! ,, go with a MCR Qseries(better flow and use of Low CFM fans over the GTS .

..If you want the Best for High Waterflow/Low CFM fans and have Money get a ThermoChill PA 120.3 and flush it twenty times before use

The THC Feser 360(shorty clone of PA) is nice but a hair overpriced for what you get...the TC/PAseries still has the low CFM edge....

For High Flow CFM Cooling Above 2000RPM 100+cfm fans then grab a GTX360,,You must use High Flow for this rad to perform..

Martins results are memories,, or id show you benches....

    P.S.

    Martin ,,,,enjoy ,,youve helped many..

=1 on the higher fin count.... i use ultra kaze on my BIX 2x120mm because standard fans had a hard time on it..
This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine..

The Black Ice GT Stealth is bull crap, and offers lower temperatures than an MCR320. It is also way to thin to be used for anything, but a space restricting build, in which case you would not be watercooling to begin with. The BIX III also works fantastic and can cool lower than even a PA 120.3, depending on what fans you use on it. Given it will sound like an airplane, I'm just explaining the potential of the higher fin density.

U guys totally took this off course i think

U have the right GTS, but the OP i believe is referring to the Black Ice Xtreme III NOT the GTX.
Its under Xtreme in the DD website. Thicker then the GTS but not the GT Xtreme

Still, just don't get the Stealth, anything is better than that.

Lol, yeah if you had not mentioned that, I was about to tear the OP's question apart. If we are still talking $50, the MCR320 is the obvious choice. If your willing to pay more, I suggest a PA 120.3, can't go wrong with TC's build quality.

Agreed. It's noise vs price. And that comparison posted above, make sure you notice it's a 120.3 vs a 120.4 rad.

Must admit, i'm well and truly happy with both performance and noise levels using a Black IceŽ GT Stealth 360 XFlow cooling 2x QX9775's at 3.2GHz and a Danger Den MPC-Chipset (hot) all in the same loop.

Sure, things get a bit warmer at 4.2GHz with increased voltage to all three chips but that's why the fans are on Scythe Kaze Master controllers so nothing a little more RPM can't handle

    The GTS360( 29mmRad) to the BIX!!! (40mmRAD)..

THE BIX !!! is better all the way around despite that HWlabs says it performs @ BIX !!! level in Stealth Mode..ive tested it and the BIX !!! won no matter the fan size .

    BTU'S ,
    British Thermal UNIT,

Thermal output or Dissapation in One Hour,,

The GTS360 is only capable of 8200BTU's,,***
The MCR series 320 capable of 9000btu,,
The BIX !!! is capable of 9700BTU's,,***
    The GTX360 around 14800btu,,
    The PA 120.3 series @ around 15435btu...
Volume SIZE(HxLxW) ,, Bigger channels and More channels(tubes)usually determins how Quik it can dissapate the heat to the fins to the AIR..Your Fan speed(CFM) determins how fast this happens.

    NOTE:***
BIX !!! displaces more HEAT,, Thats really what matters between the Two.

    BEST rad,,
i would buy is the PA120.3 coupled with HighCFM or low CFM fans if i need quietness .

    Second ,,
a GTX360 with High CFM fans ,,they can be had for $85bucks(budget price)

    Last,,
OLD New 360 Xchanger FESER (17mmfan spacing.)The revised NEW 15mm Fan spacing is $120 on average,,Go figure..

    More about GTS360 vs BIX!!!

The GTS falls behind because of its restrictive flow and the fins are too dense/low air flow still for single row rad(30fins per inch)

(BIX!!! is 18fins per Inch) twice as thick but still performs better than GTS for good low CFM fans..

    Also remembering Martins info ,,

GTX 480 with 1880rpm fans performs ahead of THC FESER X480 and ThermoChilly PA 120.3 @ 1.5gpm/2.0gpm ,,

Based on the Charts that were out there ,,Im positive High CFM went to GTX 360/480..For Low CFM its PA120.3/ then comes THC FESER 360 which is close to the PA 120.3 but its not the same...

The PA holds more water volume than Feser with slighly longer Cooling channels and thus has that extra edge on the FESER no matter if it was using Low/High CFM fans.

The last two Rads ,,Have been the Most exspensive of 3x120's particularly FESER.

Hmm hope i typed that right

u typed it right BUT WERE NOT COMPARING the BIX....read the other posts...

The GT Xtreme is not the Xtreme III (post #8)
The Xtreme III is a cheap rad like the GTS but is thicker...i mean there is no valid reason to go with GTS vs. BIX they are totally different in price, but the Xtreme III is much cheaper
