    Can a 6300 be walled @ 460 FSb?

I have this as current rig, sit back for a long story, becaus im totally confused to this point..

    Ok Current rig
    duo 6300 L627A637
    P5B DLX latest bios shipped
    OCZ 600W SLI ADJ
    2X1024 Team 667 D9GMH
    Raptor 74
    7950 GX2

Well I used to run this stuff on a DS3, and it was pretty decent little clocker exxept for the fact that it never could run past 462 FSb X 7 = 3.2ish, I and others figured this was the boards max, so I recently bought a P5B DLX, Tuniq Tower 120, and 2 60mm's to cool the rams..

Installed all this and im basically @ the same road (Ive managed to hit 468X7 but southbridge needs 1.8), what could be my problem now, Ive read through all the P5B posts and tried a ton of different setups as far as timings and turning on and off this setting and that, I can boot in @ 417 3-3-3 which would be awesome if I had a better multi, but X7 thats garbage..

Im wondering whats the problems here..

    Shell do 460 @ 1.365v cpu / rams @ 2.1v 460 4-4-3-8
Ive raised ram to 2.4 cpu to 1.55 south bridge will get me in @ about 468 but needs 1.8 south and Im not confortable with all that, I thought this was a good setup for 500+ fsb, as of yet I havent been able to acheive that at all...

Any help will be greatfully appreciated and tried @ the second I receive it and will post back..

Cmon fellas help me out, I have a feeling it isnt the ram or mobo, but either the mobo or PSU? I thought my OCZ was a beast, I really have no dam idea though, so anything will be tested and retested to insure accurate feedback..

Some CPUs have a FSB limit. My buddy had one that was limited at 450. Solution - bought another CPU and now he's running 490 mhz without a problem. I tested that first one on my p5b-e that does 516 without a hitch and he had an S3. Its your chip.

    Angry

I have the same problem, my E6300 stops ocing @ 495 even if i push the vcore to 1,5v, or nb to 1,65v or sb to 1,8v.

    Stepping: L633 B063

    Now i'm running at 486 fsb (3400mhz).

    vcore 1,4125v
    vfsb 1,300v
    nb 1,25v
    sb 1,5v

To achieve 495 i have to push the voltage a lot more, comparing the gained mhz.

    vcore 1,4500v
    vfsb 1,450v
    nb 1,55v
    sb 1,6v

I tryed all P5B Deluxe bios without raising oc success, so i'm going to buy a new cpu.

my e6300 was struggling @460FSB on P5B-D , never reach 505FSB. Swap the mobo with DS3 Rev 1 (a display one at Fry's ) and it's running 466FSB 24/7 @ 1.38v . Did 1M SuperPI with 505FSB once , my RAM is limiting it to go higher. And the best thing about it is it's running ~5C-7C cooler than P5B-D. So sometime it's not the chip , might be something else. Could be your mobo, settings, or other things. Grab the e6400 L632Axxx for the P5B-D and it's still struggling @ around 450FSB.

There is no such thing as a P5B-D. Second the sensor on the DS3 does report lower by a few deg. Asus always report higher than other boards. I have a great 6300 that can run up to 515, walled there though at 1.45v water cooled. It can do exactly 515 at the same voltage on both the Asus P5B-E and the DS3 - what this means is that if you know what you are doing the motherboards are NOT the limiting factor. Like I said before my buddy was dead locked at 450, we figured it was the D9 / S3 issue but I put his chip on my rig and walled at the exact same spot.

The guy above running the fictional P5B-D prolly means P5B-E there is an option in the memory settings (static read control I think it's called) that when enabled becomes a problem. Disable it and Im sure his OC would be the same on both boards.

It's your chip, I've had 5 6300 and 6400's they all hit a wall much lower than the 6300 in my sig.
