Oh well another product for the Fatal1ty fan club... or those who enjoy the ATi red PCB...

Asus Rampage Extreme 2

EVGA 8800GT SSC 730/1800/2000Mhz
Corsair HX850W
The board looks good, but why a Fatal1ty on a 650i and not 680i?
Because Fatal1ty didn't win WGL (or whatever it's called) this year... So now he's second bestOriginally Posted by lowfat
jokes aside, I think we'll see a Fatal1ty MAX edition soon enough with the 680i chip...
And the layout of that board isn't half-bad... no heatpipe-craziness either...

For once I am actually looking forward to a fatal1ty labeled product.
This one looks fairly decent, but I have my doubts in it's overclockability...
I'm going to agree with my danish friend that we will probably see a 680i version some time soon.
but abit abit abit, why won't you ever ditch that stupid sli switch card...
Oh, and how I love people who quote entire posts
It's a chip-limit AFAIK... But I suppose it could be done...Originally Posted by SafeFire

^^ Agreed
If I'm going to pay a premium for some <censored> to play games all day, the least they can do is give me 680i, at least 6 SATA connectors, and - preferably - give me all that "Fatal1ty" self-promoting BS as stickers that I get the option of using (an option I would not take up).

I think it's sexy looking. I LOVE the red PCB. I don't know what it is about it, but i love red PCB's, good layout too.
But what is with the SLi card? I thought we stopped using those after first gen SLi setups.
As for the fatality, the only reason i never liked the fatality name is because the fatality boards all sucked. If the board performs they can call it whatever they want.
It looks very nice. I will consider it for my next Core 2 Build.

I think it's an excellent layout.
I haven't seen 2 IDE ports on a board in a while either.
Glad I don't use a floppy drive full-time but.

I've been looking forward to this board, now I'll just have to come up with a plan to get rid of all the Fatal1retarded logos.
I've yet to see any proof that plastering a "cyber-athlete" on a motherboard does much for sales, at least as far as the US is concerned, my bet is that his name isn't carrying the high end stuff like they were hoping.
" a supercharged, factory overclocked system bus provides the hidden powers you need to Obliterate the Competition and take home the win!" Why?
On of the logos is printed on PCB, so... maybe a sticker like on ASUS P5N32-E covering the "STRIKER" logo?
I remember whe I bought my ASUS A7V600 years ago it was one of the first boards to have SATA (2 ports) and everyone laughed at me saying that I won't use them anyway, and that I should go for cheaper board without SATA. I ran out of SATA ports very quick. Now I have 6 sata ports of which only 2 are free (3x hdd, 1x esata port on case), so if I had this board I would already be limited.4 hard drives and 2 dvd burners

This is a budget board, it is perfectly reasonable to sell a motherboard for $140 and not support $500 in hard drives and DVD burners.Originally Posted by xoqolatl
I understand the have your cake and eat it too mentality, but there are a lot of people who have one or two hard drives and a single burner and do not want to pay for 6x SATA and the likes when they don't intend to pay for the items that need all of that.
Well, considering I currently have 4-sata ports and 2 160GB Seagate 7200.9's in RAID-0 on two of those ports, an 80GB Seagate 7200.7 on a third for backup, and currently have 2x 74GB Western Digital Raptors on the way, with only 4 SATA ports I'm experiencing a bit of a pinch. Worse, I would *love* to get rid of my current DVD drive and replace it with 2x SATA burners, but that clearly won't be happening until I either get a new MB or a SATA PCI card.Originally Posted by Johnny Bravo
For a board made for *enthusiasts*, 4 SATA ports is just not enough. Assuming you're buying a new system and are a gaming enthusiast, you'll probably want at least 1-2 SATA DVD drives, and the idea that you may get 3 hard drives over the course of motherboard ownership is not too unlikely.

Only 4 SATA and one eth port? Weak.
