Question W2K Installation and disabling ACPI question

    Hi,

I've read that if you press the F7 key during the first blue screen of W2k installation it will disable ACPI, so you can manually configure you IRQ's. I used to press the F6 key to install a third part RAID controller... can I just press both keys? what should I do?

    Regards, KODE.

If you mod your bios you also can make the ACPI enable / disable function accessible.
Also using APIC mode will give you aprox 24 IRQ´s.

Actually the number of IRQ's is dependent on the HAL you run.

using an acpi HAL that supports apic you get 24 but they can also still share IRQ's at times.

Running the MPS uni or mulitiprocessor HAL gives 128 IRQ's and should not share IRQ's at all.

They said I had the right to remain silent... but I didn't have the ability.
