    Conroe E6850 on Air, stability test with Ultra_Low_Volt. ^_^

    been tooo busy these days, finally got some time playing with new chips.
    Conroe E6850es
    Stepping 9 = E0

    all my E6850es in hand don't like much volts.
    defult vcore=1.22~1.24v
    < 1.48v maybe the best for E6850.
    but...seems overclks better.
    max fsb on Air = 533~570.
    can we say: E6850 is better than E6600 ?

    test results bellow are not the same chip
    mobo=asus p5b-deluxe wifi/ap no mod, bios=1004
    cooling=coolermaster fujin with 2*1700rpm 12cm fan.
    ambient=14c

    1.28v 400*9=3.6G sp2004

    1.34v 411*9=3.7G sp2004

    1.36v 418*9=3.76G sp2004

    1.42v 423*9=3.8G sp2004

    more resuls will come when I'm free

    question: why do you run largefft to show cpu stability instead of smallfft or even blend?

    Main Rig:
    CPU Intel i5 2500K @ 4500mhz
    Mobo Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
    Memory 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600

    large FFT fits inside cache of this cpu, but did not in previous cpu's. Large is the way to go.

    Large FSB volts, or no, Victor?

    oh, then I got something for you. E6600 L628A and L631B. Very different on bottom, very different V-droop, very different clocking. Something makes the droop different, and allows the "B"'s clock higher.Maybe ES too.

    Interesting. Cpu temps did not increase when you increased voltage, either. But is very high temps for that voltage, although is in-line with "b" cpus.

    WOnder what's up with my "b", then.

    pic #1 = chip #1, really hot one, like Bxxx chips
    pic #2,3 = chip #2, mid temp
    pic #4 = chip #3, normal temp as Axxx

    oh, so 3 different chips there? That's far different. temp readings 15c high then?

    So what makes this chip so special? If is three different chips, they are all seeming to scale very well. As this is almost uniform in appearance, it would hint that there is something physically differnt with these chips. Do you know what that difference is?

    Now I see Fujin for cooling... what fans?

    we tried to challenge ur 601.9fsb with our 3pcs E6600, but failed
    600 is the max to us. 601 cannot have cpuz file.

    too busy these days, will try E6850 under LN2 as soon as I have time

    nothing much besides probably higher default bus speed... probably a good thing for like server/database related work where they'd be running stock speeds.. higher default bus = higher default memory speed = more bandwidth for system. Would help I guess for mysql performance
