guess that makes microsoft a fair and honest company without monopolistic intentions, it only has around 89% market share...

I can't believe they're announcing this 3 months in advance? Unless they're trying to hush AMD?

Hm, the launch day of K8L. Why is Intel so afraid?

Depends where and to what extent, for example in France Wanadoo an ISP was fined approx 80M € because when ADSL started to take up they were selling internet access for less that what it costed them which is forbiden here, taking advantage from their past monopoly situation (they were the only telecoms company back in the days), the EU comission recently confirmed and fined them approx 10M €. So here price war is limited by the fact that you can't sell for no profit.

Dude, have you ever been a part of a business? No small business can afford to do that, and no publicly traded large business would be allowed. You can't just "lose billions" on purpose as a CEO or anyone else and expect to keep your job. Your idea may make sense in your head, but in the real world, not hardly.

amd needs to release cheap dual cores that can run on its quad fx boards. 4 cheap cores would be better than the high end dual cores imo. and at least that would spur intel to possibly release cheaper quad cores.
dual cores have been around for too long, its time for them to die out!
