You can't get points if you don't get in the top 5, correct?

Because I realized there's no way I'd get close to those guys....

If you get points for non-top 5 I'll all the benchmarks, but honestly...I have a oced 7900GT running at 690/790, waiting on some ramsinks so I can push the core over 700 and up the memory, an oced E6600 running at 3.1-3.2 (I know, poo, but whatever), and I'm getting 5.7k in '06...the 5th place in '06 is 2000 more .

So many catagories to get points in.

I was also thinking that the scores you submitted here on XS in the past would also be legal to submit to hwbot as long as you own the score.

That'd be a really good idea as you would be able to follow the contestants here:
    http://www.hwbot.org/hallOfFame.do?type=member&teamId=3

At the end of the contest, just random pick a member with more than 50 points.

@Shpoon, no you do not need to be in the top 5. You need to be in the top 150. The more popular the benchapp is, the more points you get for a good oc (eg superpi >> pcmark05).

You need to be in the top 5 of a specific processor / videocard to earn extra points (hwpoints). eg, having the third E6600 in superpi will get you points too, even if your score isn't in the top 150.

Check the faq section of hwbot.org to know more about the algorithm.

I'll check later...(it's down right now).

But either top 5, top 150, or top 5 for your specific hardware to get points?

Ugh....I might be able to manage 2 points tops

I'm gonna download all the old 3dmarks, I'll run them tommorow...

We're back up. Just moved to a dedicated server.

It might take up to 24 - 48 hours to make hwbot.org point to the new server. For those who can't wait that long:

i am not sure how the score is done, so far no scoring update. BTW, do we have to enter ALL the benchmark to get the score or just get the top performance in the benchmarks to get score to 50 (seems impossible for my system)

edit: is there any way i can get my points deleted or goten rid of?

No, read the faqs please if you are confused how points are handed out.

@flclisgreat: if you have an lower end pc, but overclocked like hell you'll recieve points too. If you don't have a high end pc, and it's not overclocked, what are doing at XS?

There are so many fields to enter in, just look for the more obscure processors and videocards and try and snap up those points. Ask your friends if you can run a 30 minute test on their hardware and submit them under your name. Sometimes even a 0MHz overclock + OS tweaking will result in point-worthy scores.

I'm gonna have to do this - once my new PSU comes in. Mine blew I'm running on tandem crap PSUs right now which are both about maxed out and I have nothing overclocked. Didn't realize my PC pulls that much juice

i do have a low end pc (in sig). i do have most of the records for my cpu (except sandra didn't give me any points for getting 1st place) but it is a huge limiting factor for all the 3dmark's so i score way below what the records are for my card
