Another DC vault project added !!!!

Pi Segment has been added to the vault under the mathematics category. Haven't looked for a team just the project link. By the Free DC stats this thing looks to be wide open!

i'm all over this like a fat kid over a twinkie!

EDIT: finished DLing; does affinity automatically (at least for dual cores), which is very convenient. Seems to be VERY light on memory usage. Their site is unbelievably slow, though.
EDIT 2: Just created an XtremeSystems team

Way to go Bloody Sorcerer! Looks like your holding down the fort. I tried last night and early this morning to get the agent downloaded without luck. I will try in again when I get home from work.

Well latest vault update has DPC ahead of us .... they are 3rd in pi segment. Its
becoming clear we cant move any where because of the SIEVE projects and PSP which all the tops teams are strong in and we are weak.

www.pisegment.net is very slow, I had to leave it going all night to d/l the client.

I mirrored the client here for others having trouble.

Eww, not good. Running it from a non-admin/super-user type account could possibly correct this oversight.

Looks like after tomorrow we will be 15th in protiens@home, and it will take a while to move up higher than that. This weekend I'll switch another of my rigs to psp. That will give me 2 dual cores on it, but without much help, it will take a while to move up significantly there too.

Looks like the DC Vault had trouble getting stats for PI Segment. It only had data for 2 teams. The update before had data for 9 teams. Our team is 16 out of 20 on PI Segment. I think that comes out to 2500 points when we make it in.

The site is really slow, but everthing is going ok with the upload/download for the agent.

Things were looking good, but we're back to 16th place. Some of the other top teams just passed us. There are only 22 teams on this project making the vault points at 455 per position.

This project is helping my DCR rank so I guess that's good. I have points now in the Math2 column.

Every time I try to download pi segment the site is down? We need some more bodies on this thing ... just the project site is about jank as jank could be.

    Check the posting here about this project;

    http://www.team-ninja.com/vbulletin/index.php

some indicate possible issues and some even have advocated pulling the project from the vault.

I will have power available shortly but don't want to have to battle inconsistant work.

There is a link in the 1st post in page http://www.team-ninja.com/vbulletin/...t=40096&page=5 to download the agent.

The agent works fine and doesn't have any problems with the upload/download and getting credit. Using the website has been really bad, but it has been getting better.

My plan right now is to only run 1 box on this unit we decide to really go after this one.

I think we need to now give pi segment our total attention ..... less than 6000 away from top 10 in the vault, this project could eat away a lot of those points fast. Also the site is still slow, but functioning enough for registration and download.

Does this project pick up the dual cores?? or is it required to run 2 clients??

I have 6 dual core boxes that I can move to this project.

The ABC boxes, I will leave for awhile. We need more cushion there.

Mike, yes it automatically sets 2 instances for dual cores. The client seems to work pretty good so far.

We turned in a score of 588 yesterday on PI segment. Looks like it will even be more today. We also got some more vault points. It's fun to watch the power some of you have on this project and other projects.
