Technically, it is a usb keyboard, but it is using a ps/2 adapter. Also, it IS set to OS. My Ram is getting the spec'd 2.2V, and at the relaxed SPD timings too. What in the world would cause windows to hang in such a way? I am running a complete scan using seatools from my trust ultimate boot cd, It is checking the drives and the controllers, even the system memory. Will update when it finishes.
Any other thoughts though?

Well, I finally got the itch again today...I am working on making 400 fsb (3.6ghz) stable in orthos with the same 1000Mhz 4-4-4-12 2T memory timings. Looks like it is gonna take some voltage though. So far 1.535 was not stable. I am keeping an eye on the pwm temps and the cpu temps though to make sure I don't burn it down. Still stock heatsink with just a 40mm fan on NB. Processor seems to be hitting about 52 C Max and PWMs are about 63 C Max under orthos stress testing after about 15 minutes. Do these seem too high?
Update, by about 20 minutes in Processor hit about 56 C and PWMs had hit a max of about 70 C. Too hot anyone? ----->failed at 20 min 46 sec

well, usb MOUSE support was set to BIOS, so i changed it to OS, BAM windows boots. I am now installing drivers, and like 1800000 Windows updates (damn SP1 Disk). DUMBEST..BUG..EVER..
Anyway, thanks for the help guy.

I can only get about 1 hour orthos stable with 3600. 1.555V Vcore and 2.175 Vdimm. Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?

Roger_D25 wrote a great post about memory timings for me, try loosening some up. His post references Gskill HZ which I have and his Crucial Ballistix. Read it ---> HERE

So how am I doing?
3.375Ghz
CPU V = 1.35
Mem = 2.2V
Everything else is still set to stock.
Memory is running at 1000Mhz stock 5-5-5-15 2T settings
My CPU is running about 51C under full load
My PWM's hover around 68-73 under full load (1-3 at or above 70, and 4-5 around 68)
So far Orthos tests seem to be OK. This is all Stock cooling except I re-did heat pipes with AS5 and rolled the pad on the PWM's for better contact.
My CPU is using the cooler in my sig and the fan is running at full speed when system is at full load.

Your CPU voltage is lower than mine(1.435) and your Vdimm is higher than mine(2.15). I also ran tighter timings though. I have virtually the same settings as my 24/7 setup(full story on page 30 and 31). My processor runs about 10 C cooler than yours and my pwms run about 15 C cooler. I wonder if it has to do with the case cooling, cpu cooling, or the 40mm fan I have on the NB. I may try to loosen my timings up to go for 3.6, but I was really hoping I could get there without having to. I may end up rigging up some new fans in the case to blow on RAM and PWM area. I was able to get a healthy reduction in temps with an 80mm Vantec Tornado blowing on the pwms. I did notice that at 3.6ghz last night everything was 32M stable and I was able to play DoD for about 2 hours with no problems, but I was getting some noise on the board from time to time (sounded like hard drive seeking, but coming from cpu area) usually when doing small tasks. Anyone have any thoughts on that? It only occurs at that high speed setting, not at 3.375.

What are your settings? I'm attributing the lower CPU Voltage due to the Xeon Processor instead of the standard Core 2...Maybe that is BS, but I can't see any other reason.
I did get a BSOD this AM, but last night I was running fine.
50C seems to be about has hot as my CPU will get with my current setup. I have no fan on my PWM's right now, but do have a small 5CFM fan on the NB...which I'm guessing isn't cutting it very well.
I see you have the same memory as me. I'd really like to see your settings in detail as I haven't toyed with going past the stock settings from Crucial for it (2.2V 5-5-5-15 2T).

I get about 45-47 C at 24 hours of orthos with my cpu set at 3.375ghz and 1.435V and in the mid to upper 50C range on the PWMs. I actually saw a reduction in stability at 2.2V Vdimm from my current 2.15V, but like I said, that is at 4-4-4-12 2T timings 1000Mhz and the cpu at 3.375ghz(check out page 31, I think, to see everything). It basically sounds like we have the same cooling setup. I took the heatsinks off and put zalman thermal grease between the NB and SB chips and the heatsink as well as a dab of thermal grease in the pockets created by the thermal pad on the pwms. I can tell I am not getting equal pressure on all of the PWMs based on the ends having lower temps than the centers. Other than that it is just the Zalman 9700, 40mm fan on the NB, and 3X120mm case fans. For the 3.6Ghz, I think that this will be inadequate and so I ordered a set of Dominator RAM fans today and an additional 120mm aerocool turbine fan to swap out for the rear 120mm fan in my case(and a DVD burner to play with ).

Don't forget cooling your ram guys! anything around or over 2.2v will make them go really hot in the long run under load specially in small cramped cases.
placing a fan on them will improve your stability and will help pass lengthy stress tests.

I would probably clear CMOS and try again. Shut it down, flip the clear switch, pull out the battery if you really want to be sure, wait 10 mins, then replace and start up. Enter new values in BIOS, slowly, not all at once. My $.02.

I just tried the 1333 strap on my computer after doing some "cooling mods" (aka hanging some vantec tornados to the open case blowing on the mobo parts and opening a window for some cooool winter air) and it was less stable than the 1066 strap. It failed orthos after 9 minutes at much lower temperatures. So, I am going back to the 1066 and testing 3.6 ghz.
