After playing with the P4C800 and the IC7, I think the P4C800 is a stronger board.

Nice results, memory bandwidth is up there where it is supposed to be.

I swore i'd stay away from ASSus a while ago and i'm sticking to it
So far I havent found the limit yet on my IC7, but I believe 3D benching to be no problem at 290 FSB

Looks to me that you still have a lot of tweaking to do.IC7+2.6C.Twinmos PC3700 2.8v.Im running a higher fsb than you but much slacker timings and yet even with a lower clock speed my rig is faster. All air cooled btw...

Setting both mobos to the same settings and same speed. The P4C800 will score a buffered sandra of 4.9k and the IC7 will produce a 4.7k at best.

I had to volt mod the IC7 to break 3k sandra unbuffered.

Interesting. Are there also those differences in other benches (3DMark, games, etc)? I don't mind a Sandra anamoly, cuz I don't care all that much about Sandra, but if the difference is across the board, that's another thing.

what voltages can you have on the asus for mem and cpu? asus are usually very poor when it comes to allowing voltage changes.

2.85 for mem and new bios allows 1.95, though I just use 1.7v.

lol 2.85 for mem, typical pathetic asus. ill go with the MSI.

what amazes me is they give you a paltry 2.85 for mem when mem can be run at like 3.2 without dying, yet they give you 1.9 for cpu when even 1.7 has killed some p4's. That demonstrates a lack of knowledge to me else they would give you much more for the memory not just the cpu.

    Ewok,
You got dat' right. This would be reason #1 why I'm not keeping my IC7...MSI at least gives a sh*t about us overclockers.

True Ewok, I wouldn't want to put 1.9v through and would rather have more memory voltage as at present I have to run 5:4 3750Mhz because my memory will not do 250 with 2-5-2-2. I might try 2-5-3-2 as I think Zroc and others have said this does have a big impact, but does let you go a lot higher.

I wonder why the MSI lets you put in over 2v on the processor, is anyone going to use that much ? I thought with Intel cpu's they are not receptive to big voltages, unlike AMD ?

    Regards

    Duh....Wow, I was thinking the 2.4C but a 3.7GHz and a 1GHz bus would e pretty cool.
