    QX6700 temps

i just hooked up my rig with a quadcore and the temps on this thing at stock speeds has me a little worried
the temps are in the high 60's in core temp and speedfan records it in the 40's,ai reports as the speedfan
now i dont know if i need a better cooler than this zalman 9500
    thoughts?

Are this idle temps right after boot.
look at your -12 & -5 line in speedfan
Try using systool in Hardware Monitoring>settings choose IntelCoreTemp.dll

I dont own a Conroe let alone a Kentsfield but that seems to high around 45 in bios 40 in windows seems more appropiate correct me here people if needed

Try to untighten you cooler just a bit if temps are rising much you probably should reseat it. Assuming you are using as5 Akasa or coollaboratory.

After some research.i;ve come to believe there isn't any cooler that the drop the temps significantly on this chips so i'm just going to run stock until a better cooler is made for the quadcores to cool better
i spent a lot on the chip and a little scared frying it
    thanks everyone
