Samsung announces release of 27'' LCD

    Linked

The Samsung 275T shares much in common with the unannounced Dell 27" display. Both displays use the same 8-bit widescreen S-PVA Samsung LTM270M1 panel. The panel features a 1920x1200 resolution with 0.303 millimeter pixel pitch.
Samsung's new SyncMaster boasts a 6ms gray-to-gray response time, 500 cd/m^2 brightness and a 3000:1 constrast raito. Samsung also claims the display has a 178/178 degree viewing angle -- meaning the image on the display is still visible at 89 degrees off-center left-to-right or up-and-down.

To be released for purchasing February 2007.
I know it's not the latest and greatest resolution to scale, BUT don't deny it, you know you still want it!!!! =P or at least I do.

I'm curious whether or not the .303 dot pitch would be all that noticable on a screen that size, from what I remember the smaller the dot pitch the crisper the image quality.

exactly true, I notice a huge difference going from 0.255 to 0.28 so I am sure the 0.303 will look very grainy.

    Only 1920 x 1200?

I'll pass. I was hoping for a 2560 x 1920, or whatever it is the 30" display . Oh well.

The effect of dot pitch is entirely dependent upon viewing distance.

My laptop has a 15.4" 1920x1200 display. Tiny pixel, tiny text, needs to be view close with in 2 feet, and I have 20/10 vision.

Then my 24" 1920x1200 desktop display has big pixels and big text and I like to view 4 or 5 feet away.

We'll see how it performs in the real world. However, I'm honestly alrite with 1920x1200 on a 27'' screen, but it would be nice if they later released a 2560x1920 as well.

The looks remind me of ASUS MWU.... something like that.
