Why does everyone with a sample of this board, here and elsewhere, simply NOT post any decent overclock results? Is there an unmentioned NDA for all the testers precluding certain discussions prior to hard launch? Several people seem to have it but no real hard analysis...lots of excuses though.

Or it zapped them when they plugged it in and they...forgot...what they...were....supposed to....do.

I want to see one of these things somewhere pushed to some serious limit with all the numbers published.

It's looking pretty obvious no real OCing numbers will be out prior to release w/o Abit's permission.

Wonder if the problem is an Abit permission ...

I think the mobos are being dispatched for monday , we 'll see some numbers soon.

    Crotale is busy ATM ...

    Or something like that, yeah.

I think the mobos are being dispatched for monday , we 'll see some numbers soon.
But what was the purpose of these select people even having the board? Other than some pics and a few tame screenshots of non-stressed situations, nothing has been learned that couldn't be gleaned from the Abit website. Again, it seems the people who will really get the word out will be people who buy the thing blind.

So is everyone else with the board.

Eh, whatever though. It's Abit's board to market as they like. I just wish the reviewers would be upfront and say no real hard look at the board (warts and all) will be published prior to release.

lol; abit / nvidia can take their sweet time as far as i am concerned; i'll just stick with a one g.card solution if this keeps going nowhere....mmm do the flip over to a cf board maybe..who cares?

I guess it depends which kind of OC you refer to. From what I see, Crotale is OC'ing the FSB. In terms of overclock speed, if the FSB can run so stable so high, then under extremely cool situations the CPU "SHOULD" crank up to some incredible numbers. I'm guessing with the "silent" solution abit have on it, that it probably doesn't OC so well without some modification to the NB cooler or digital PWM.

I meant that you could try to lock all timings to specific values.
Set the FSB to 1700 and Sync mode, to begin with, then 5-5-5-15.
In the lower section, check what the Auto(X) values are, and set them to X.

Personally, I think 450FSB 1H Orthos stable is good, and this is still with the stock coolers, with fans though.

I'll run some more tests with the stock coolers, then I'll replace the with some heavier stuff. I feel the board has more left in it.

Ahh I understand now. I will try it when I get back home this evening. I also noticed that the passive cooling onboard is attached with thermal pads rather than a paste. In the future I may try swapping this out to see if it improves temperatures. I'm still gunning for >500MHz

nicely presented packaging; looks like the nb sink has been lengthened slightly in comparison to some previous sample boards

You will most likely find out from people who buy the thing on retail release.

Arrrrrrrrggg! I am so tempted to order it. At the end of the day how much worse than the current offerings can it be? Ah?
