I think it's worth repeating that the Ebay listing is for SL6GV which is the C1 stepping. The 1.6's that are the most desired are D1's with sSpec SL6XK. Still a good price for C1's.

    Yep... I have few 1.6 D1's. 24/7 100% load 3.15Ghz.

    I also have a pair of 2.0Ghz C1s. On stock volts (1.5 I think, not LV's) I was able to hold 24/7 100% load at 3.0Ghz.

    All on stock cooler.

Anyone ever come across a pair of the 3200/2mb/533 Gallatins think of me..
As long as they aren't 2 arms and 2 legs to buy them..

Heh same here....I've been waiting for a good deal on ebay but doesnt look like its going to happen anytime soon. I might just snag an Asus NCCH-DL instead of the PC-DL though...

How would a xeon cruncher with either C1 or D1 cpu's be compared to a AMD or C2D dual core machine? I was thinking of building a xeon cruncher but then i was thinking for close to the same amount of $ a person could build a cheap AMD or C2d dual core cruncher.

The c1 would obviously be cheaper, but thers no guarantee on how high a oc youll get, but if you get a D1, AMD, or C2D system youll have more of a guarantee and would cost approx the same between the 3.

i cant tell you about performance but i can tell you about price

i bought my c1's for £30, the heatsinks (some coolermaster jobbies) for £5 each and the board from a member on here for about £78
