nice oc you got there with the ram your using. have you tried 7x500?
But you must have at least 8 hours of Orthos, (small FFTs or Blend) or Prime. I wouldn't worry about it though this hasn't been updated since april.

Kenofstephen, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the OC is not 3,710 Mhz. It's true that Orthos is reporting that number, but Orthos isn't taking into account that your multiplier is now set to 6 rather than 9. Your actual OC is what's reported by CPU-Z. In this case, it's 2,472(6 x 412) Mhz. What you have is a good FSB overclock, and it's definitely something to be proud of.

As for Core Temp Beta....that's just confusing. Probably why they referred to it as "Beta."

I think his 3,710 was correct. I'm a little new to this, but it looks to me like his computer is still set to shift to a lower multiplier to conserve energy when it's not required to run balls to the wall. His Ortho is idle and multiplier is at 6 reading 2.473. If you add another 50% (shifting the multiplier from 6 to 9 for a full load), then you end up at the 3,710 mark. I have not disabled that feature in BIOS yet either so I see it often.

You know what? I think you're absolutely right!
Thanks for correcting me on that. I have that feature disabled in bios, so I've never seen that before. The reason that I thought the readings were off is because I have my FSB set to 1.6ghz and my multiplier is 8 instead of 9. So, CPU-Z will report 3.2ghz while Orthos is reporting 3.6ghz.

Kenofstephen, I apologize for misinterpreting your screenie, and I want to congratulate you on having an excellent overclock. Good job!

Wow...someone said I was write (ok, I meant right, but that was how I originally typed it...i'm leaving it, that's just funny!) and it's in print even! Where's the screenshot button at?

I have not turned off that feature yet, and I'm not sure I will. I usually leave my computer turned on so the power saver may be a good option. Besides a command or two when your computer is idle, or while fully active, how much of a difference does it really make? Does it improve performance enough to really make it worth running full speed 24/7? Either i'm not being as anal about every clock cycle as others are, or I'm missing something obvious?!?

Screw it...if all else fails, i'll just sit here staring at my avatar again. That's always a good passtime.

Generally, people turn it off to make sure it doesn't make the system unstable. But if it is stable with it, better leave it
