Yes P5N32-E. I'm working on making it presentable. I finally put it back in my old case but its all messed up from past modding. I've ordered a new case that should be here next week. Started cleaning up my water cooling/chiller stuff. About 2 hours in 3599Mhz at 1.25v (9x400mhz set in BIOS). I even have my 667 memory running 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 1T and its still ticking.

True that! L6xxBxxx all own hardcore.

My 3rd L6xxBxxx Xeon 3060 also primes 435*9, mobo limited, easily too...

Holy cow temperatures sure are low at 0.85v/2.4Ghz. I'm maxing out at like 35C.

I dont trust anything that gets reported now for striker...well speedfan reads close to a voltage measure but its off too.

    Cool...!

I am picking up a new box this week to build...
    - Silverstone TJ09
    - E6600
    - Asus P5N32-E
    - Ultra-120 with Scythe fan
    - Gskill 2gb DDR2 6400 HZ Ram
    - XFX 8800GTX
    - Thermaltake Toughpower 750watt

I am hoping to get a stable 3.5ghz. Just worried about the northbridge/board heat everyone has been talking about. The silverstone case has a few good cooling options with 120mm fans, so am hoping to keep the chipset temps down.

Might need to ask for some bios tips in about a weeks time if thats OK.

Wow, your chip promotes the hell out of drool!
One little question, what is your ambient temp?

I disagree, i hit 4ghz on my L628B 6400 and the_nemisis went to find l628b's based on my results, he ended up finding four the worst of which did like 3.95 ghz or so. The l628b e66600's also are terrific cpu's.

Weeks dont always make a difference, but saying that it's useless to track is just flat out wrong.

like my L628B194 from nemisis's fry's batch, that is the highest water cooled e6400 that i've seen. 4.23ghz. benchable @ 4.12ghz. There are good weeks/steppings and there are bad ones. Its not 100% but the odds are are on your side if you get one of the"good" ones.

And this guys CPU seems to be an AWESOME one. 3.6ghz orthos @ 1.26v is just flat out ridiculous. I'd love to see the max suicide @ 1.6v/1.7v.

About the 3.6Ghz at 1.26v the screen shot was only for 1 hour and a half. Mine died at 2 hours and 40 minutes for 1.25v. I did get this though Ambient is about 74F.

Christ. really puts my l629a to shame. 8x400=3200 @ 1.280v actual (1.375v set in bios) is the lowest it can do. Hell, that isn't even too shabby. But once you get to 8x450=3600, mine needs 1.46v actual (1.575v in bios) to be able to run orthos without it immediately failing. Never tested to see it's actually stable since coretemps rise to 80'c and I'm not comfortable there. Coretemps at 3200 @ 1.28v actual are about 59'c with ac freezer pro 7, which is ok.

Are you noticing temps climbing very quickly with voltage increase, compared to other chips though?

I've got an L627B155 that can run orthos for 6+ hours (cancelled by me) at 3.6Ghz 1600FSB, 1.26v (~1.22v droop) 48C load, but when I try for anything higher it just black-screens in orthos, and higher voltages REALLY get things cooking! At 1.39v (bios = 1.5), its around 66C loaded on water!

    (Stock speed (2.4) & auto volts (1.12 actual) were @ 22C idle, 34C load.)

I got to give a try with my E6600 too!

Now I'm booting mine at 400x9 with 1.45v in bios (1.4v on load). I'l try to boot with a lower fsb and voltage and see if I can reach your results!!!

My cpu is from the same batch from your's Erickwok, a B2! Don't know if this has much to do with it!

You can check my latest update with this cpu here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1166135489

The batch is what counts, as written on the ihs or box. I believe all production conroes at the moment are b2 revision.

And what about the Vcore? CPUZ doesnt show the right vcore values.

How can i set the vcore below 1V? The minimum with my board is 1,225 in Bios ~1,168V under Load @3100Mhz.

hmm there's actually quite a few progs I think but I've always been a big fan of rmclock (sorry don't have a link google it it's easy to find i think rightmark.org or something). I've been endorsing it ever since I found out about it and first introduced dothan pinmodding a year and a half ago)

Before I bought my laptop I asked those about dothan overclocking via the old school bsel manipulation methods we've seen on xeon's and p2/p3's from way back when. However, I was greeted with a whole lot of antienthusiasm with people telling me it's a laptop yada yada. So I went ahead and bought one (dell i6000) and pinmodded away. It was a complete success as I'd expected, so I posted results and a howto for the i6000. Needlesstosay, it became a huge ass hit on notebookforums.com and someone else took the credit for the work.

But it was through notebookforums that I also found rmclock and was able to run my dothan 715 (1.5ghz 400fsb, 1.340v stock vcore) at 760 speeds (2.0ghz 533fsb) and best of all at 1.18v vcore!!!! Comparisons I did on crudge testing by me with just generic usage actually went up about 15-20 minutes with the overclock and undervolt!!!! I should note that I also employed 0.7v at the base speedstep multiplier instead of the standard 0.988v (albeit I was running now at 6x133=800 instead of 6x100=600), which had more to do with the powersavings.

But regardless, sorry about that little aside, I just figured I'd bring it up here at xtreme in case you guys haven't seen my name before (didn't want to be posting here after such an early registration here with nothing to show for myself and especially after being a complete noob in the watercooling subforum)... good luck with rmclock!

edit: Should note though that I'm not sure how voltage modulation via speedstep etc works for c2d. Is it part of the c1e package? If so, you cannot disable this in bios or else no windows voltage regulation program will work for you.

So if striker is really undervolting or CPU-Z is incorrect, how do we exactly determine that its 0.88v.. any multimeter readouts there?

CPU-Z is like 1.15-1.25 ALL THE TIME no matter what vcore is.
