Wow, this is ironic. I just got my E6300 from newegg today, and it too is a L629B032 To bad this chip isnt going into a PC that needs to be OCed. This PC is for working purposes only, so stabilty is #1 concern. However I OC'ed it only to 335x7 (2.33GHz) of course using stock Vcore.
    Nothing anymore

are newer 6300's doing bad lately?

I have a very early 6300 I got from newegg that does 7 x 533 just fine, at 1.5 volts. seems the latest ones are somehow neuterd.
ever since the E4300 came out, seems the 6300 and 6400 are not as good as they use to be... wonder what changed.

7 x 520 at 14 hours prime is nothing to scoff at though.
    definatly a keeper.

i had high hopes for my e6300 too. i bought it from newegg about a month ago and got a Q649A178 and it will do 500fsb with alot of vcore but no more. its the L2 rev and it sucks bad cuz i wanted very high fsb but o well. its missing resistors on the bottom compared to my brothers e6300 when they first came out. thanks alot intel for neuturing my e6300 bs i tell you im so mad.

I think the new L2 steppings are not as good. I just got an e6300 Q648A299, it's stable at 7x429 for 3.0ghz @ 1.425 in bios, about 1.37 under load. I can get it to 7x458, but takes 1.525 in bios to get there. I can bench it, but temps get too high for a 24/7 clock.

Mine will do 533 as well, but I need better NB cooling to actually use it. I'm solving that with a HR-05 SLI.

    hey Kunnak

it's usually motherboards that are stopping people from pushing further

my chip was good for 1.4v with 3.6GHz and that should translate to 1.45v 3.7 and 1.5v 3.8GHz on air..... but the motherboard can't handle it for me anyways

i wouldn't mind buying one of those DFIs to at least have 1066 strap at 500MHz FSB for 24/7 system

yeah, it seems like newer weeks aren't doing as well compared to the late 20's. that and there's some e63/64 that are l2 allendales now

Nice! Is that 100% stable? I've got my e6400 @ 3600 1.46v and it'll pass orthos (small, large, blend, custom with 8-1024 5 min) for 27+ hours (canceled when hit 27), but isn't truly stable. In everyday usage, I get random bugouts with programs crashing or bsod's. More vcore doesn't help. Tried up to 1.55v load. This is with a few different boards and ram albeit all p965. I'm using a P5B Deluxe.

I can go further, but its pretty obvious the board starts getting flakey.

For now I've backed off to 3.5Ghz on 1.39V.
