Sweet stability spots for P5N32-E SLI, Striker Extreme.. & E6600, X6800...

So far what's I've found is that 1.2VHT & CPU VTT play big role getting stable overclocks.. For my P5N32-E SLI (0903) & E6600 those sweet values are:

1.2VHT = 1.20 (BIOS)(1.26 in Windows)
CPU VTT = 1.30 (BIOS)(1.36 in Windows)
NB = 1.40 (BIOS)(1.44 in Windows)

With these settings I've archieved 12 hours with 400x9 with quite low voltage levels.



I've also tried to go further over 400 fsb, with Auto setting board sets

1.2VHT to 1.46
CPU VTT to 1.46

when this happens overclocks are unstable, when I manually set them to 1.20 and 1.30 board is stable again. Have you noticed same kind of behavior?

Hmm interesting post for me... I have same mobo and BIOS and believe it or not my 1.2VHT and CPU VTT are now both at 1,46v (with Asus Probe II)
I'm running 3600 now as well with 1,4063Vcore set in BIOS. This Vcore was needed to get it stable though I still have to test a long orthos run.

I'll try to change these values to yours and see if it's still stable or more stable

I have the P5N32E-SLI with 0903 bios. Both my 1.2VHT and CPU VTT are set at 1.4v. My E6300 runs at 450Mhz at 1.325V in BIOS (everest 3.5 885beta shows 1.23v). I'll definately give your settings a shot and see if I can get a higher clock. Who knows it might be good for high FSBs clocking on 680i boards....

Oh btw, I'm using Linked mode, EPP setting activated, memory timings are 5-5-5-15-2T (Corsair Twin2x2048-8500C5). This will at least remove possibility of memory causing unstability..

I just tried your settings out and it really didn't work for me...I had to do a BIOS reset to get the system up. I suspect if you tried running 450fsb and upwards, you might have to increase the 1.2VHT and the CPU VVT to 1.4 for stability.

Yeah it's probably the case, around 400 and with multiplier 9 those seems to be ok though. I've been testing now with 3645 (405x9) and Orthos has been stable so far 1½ hours.. with BIOS set vcore voltage 1.46. (with P5N32-E SLI real value is at least 0.08 lower)... Temperatures have been from idle around 40 to full load max 70, I only have Thermaltake Big Typhoon, better cooler would give better results I guess =).

I think its worth noting that just like CPU's some chipsets will run better with different voltages than others.

Mine will run at min voltage on the chipset upto 475 FSB.

Also worth noting that Auto will up the voltages on the chipset with FSB which can have a negative effect on FSB performance. Its always worth playing with your unique motherboard to find the optimum voltages.

Umm id unno if u noticed but ur mobo temps are high. I pretty much the same settings but my mobo is at 25C

Yeah I guess it's running quite hot, i haven't done anything special to cool NB or SB down, no extra fans etc...
