boot problems after trying to install X-fi sound card...

EDIT*: it's fixed and works now! =D

Ok, so I opened up the rig and put my new X-Fi FPS sound card in there with the front I/O bay, then I try to turn it on and my mobo gets 3 RED LED's and of course no screen comes up.

Next, I tried three separate things(the usual):

    1.) Safe boot jumper
    2.) CMOS clear
3.) Remove mobo battery for 1 hour

    None of them worked.

So of course I already checked my cables to make sure if I didn't accidently pulled any out or even rechecked my jumpers and pins to see if something might've got tampered with during the installation, couldn't find anything.

What do I do next?.... I take apart the whole rig and put it back together, or basically I disconnected everything, all cables, take out the ram, video card, anything in my slots, I stripped the mobo a part of everything that was put in(except the CPU), and once again took out the battery...then hours later I had the joy of putting it all together.

After I put it back together ... behold, it BOOTS!!!! And this time I only get 1 RED LED! However... it will not load the OS after verifying the DMI Pool data, I get the error:

    "Error loading operating system"
    ......................

So...what do you think is wrong? I don't have my enclosure with me so I'm not able to tap into the HDD, and actually I don't have any equiptment with me right now, all left at my apt. I might go to a friend's and tap into the hDD to see if it is at least accessible(Lord have mercy)..I'm on the laptop.

What went wrong in the first place? Any speculations? I would've said... "maybe it's the nf4 glitch w/ X-fi" but it's not applicable to me because I have the X-fi with the X-ram, which to my knowledge has no known problems with the chipset.

    Any input would be appreciated.

PS, yeah I don't have any spare equiptment with me, so I can't even load another hdd in there, I'm about to order one tonight from newegg, hopefully it'll get to my place by wednesday. Any recommendations? I'm looking at the Seagate 7200.10 320GB ST3320620A:

Fits my budget, otherwise I'd pick up a raptor. But I'm opened to anything else in the $120 less than category.
