I have an announcement to make - a disclosure of affiliation with Corsair Memory Inc.

    Hey guys!

Some of you might know me as not only a member of XS Staff but also as a guy behind the memory “OCing Reports” that I have been conducting and posting on XtremeSystems for about a year now. It has been a lot of fun and, above all, I hope those posts were of some help for you – whether in making a knowledgeable purchase decision or as a general memory overclocking help.

Certain people behind Corsair Memory Inc. – a provider of high performance memory products based in Fremont, CA – have apparently seen some of the tests I had done and decided that they might have a position for me to fill in their Lab. In other words, they were willing to pay me for what I have been doing for some time now and enjoying a lot, hehe. This means, on December 10th I officially became an employee of Corsair Memory.

I personally think, it’s very important to disclose affiliation with any computer hardware manufacturer that is actively participating in shaping up our community of PC enthusiasts and overclockers, here on XtremeSystems. Therefore, making this announcement was the first thing I wanted to do.

I will still be around and, after a word I had with FUGGER, remain a member of XS Staff. I will continue posting here, sometimes as myself and sometimes as an employee of Corsair. Naturally, I won’t be testing and evaluating memory as I used to (various manufacturers), but I might once in a while show some results from Corsair’s RAM, answer questions and help with memory overclocking, if neccesary.

I hope, that by announcing it, we will avoid any confusion in the future. I will also change my user title to reflect my affiliation with Corsair Memory Inc.

I'm going to keep this thread stickied for a few days...

Let me know if you have any questions, please...

Corsair gains - we lose. Congratulations anyway. Being paid to do what you obviously love is a nice reward for all that you've learned. While the XS community won't benefit nearly as much in the future from your posts, you leave a large body of work, and more importantly I think you may have raised the standards (or overall average) of the detail and quality of the memory reports. While I'll admit initially I was scratching my head over the maniacal amount of testing and data reported in some of your reports, I'm glad to see others picking up on your format and detail.

So does Corsair plan on locking you into their secret labs or is there a chance we'll see you at shows with some booth babes?

1/ I'm really happy that a clocker (you) may be hired in a manufacturer company.

2/ I'm very happy to see that you keep your honesty and a sort of honour in keeping us in touch.

    Good luck Bachus
