Replaced a lap Big Typhoon with a Tuniq Tower 120

Well first off the artic silver probably didn't set yet.

My old Big Typhoon temps: (which was lapped to a near mirror finish.)
    28-31 idle
40-45 load (with the upper numbers on hot days.)

Ok, I'm not quite impressed with the Tuniq Tower but I was reading good reviews and wanted to get one to give it a spin.

    27-31 idle
    38-40 load.

All load temps are prime blend tests with my 24/7 oc of 2.924ghz @ 1.45v.
Anyone see a good temp drop lapping a Tuniq?

Edit: I might try to remount it for the hell of it to see if it makes a difference. Oh, this thing is bigger the Big Typhoon which is already huge and if you have a p180 case I don't recommend this hsf because you have to remove the side suction for the video card.

40 at load is very good

Oh, the BT was on a 110cfm Silverstone which I transferred over to the Tuniq. I ran it 1900rpm.

a 5ºC drop in load temps and you aren't impressed? I'd love to have my CPU run at 40ºC! Curious, what were you hoping for?

Everyone always goes nuts over the Tuniq Tower, but that is the same load I get with my SI-128. My case does have very good air flow though, maybe that's what's helping?

Reporting cpu temps without room/case ambients is a bit pointless..

you could get 25C load if your room was a walk in freezer at -15C

I used the same Silverstone fan that was on my BT and moved it over to the Tuniq.

Its winter here and that BT held 45c and less on 100F days. So I have to wait till summer for the upper load temps on the Tuniq.

Well I wouldn't have expected any more than 1-2C temp drop or so from going from a lapped BT to Tuniq Tower, honestly it's not THAT much of a difference. BT also performs nice with higher rpm fans so. So 1-2C drop is what I would have personally expected. If you had compared BT non lapped with stock cooler vs Tuniq Stock cooler it prolly had been perhaps 3-4C difference tho for example.

What's the core_temp temps btw, I'm sure it's a couple of degrees higher.

I have both coolers using both with a silverstone fan and there is hardly any difference to speak on.
The little air system that could.

How about the Thermalright Ultra Personally,if I manage to find a way to get a Tuniq to Bulgaria,I would choose it,and not the BT.

Well one thing I can say about the Tuniq....looks a lot better then the BT and has thumb screws which my BT didn't have.

78-80F. If I open my window, which is right next to my computer, loads go down to 26C.
