If it's a poor clocker, I can always return the board.

Or they could remove the lock with a new bios as they did with the P5B vanilla.
that makes baby Jesus cry. i wonder why they would do such a thing... probably so we could all sink another hundred bucks into a 680i based board. i'd really like to give a 150ish dollar Nvidia chipset motherboard a try, but SLI isn't important enough to me to sacrifice a few hundred mhz.
